No we don't, but we're talking about a person driving slightly under the speed limit, with icy road conditions. I see this happening for a great many, if not most drivers, and I admire them for it.

Stopping distance at 50kph is probably more of a concern, even if you’re rocking winter tires. So, cut people some slack.

Well, I've been driving almost 20 years in this province with no accidents and only a couple tickets, I'll defer to my own judgement and experience ten times out of ten instead of what the usual road warriors think.

I learned to drive by accident and have lots of tickets to prove it, even one for speeding by night.

“It’s his right” LOL no it absolutely is not. How stupid.

Nobody said it’s OK to harass people, just that there is no reason to go under 50 on a 50 if you have winter tires and the conditions are as they were. As Corsi said, driving too slowly is actually dangerous, so best not to drive at all. If you’re going about the speed limit +/- a couple ks then there is likely no issue. I’ve personally never had someone lose it over me going 45-50 in a 50, but what do I know, the guy was probably insane. Or OOTC was going slower than he said, which is what I assume.

Driving under the speed limit is legally fine, providing you are not driving slow enough to impede the traffic flow.

Driving over the speed limit is illegal.

That’s what I do, sans the cigarette.

You're in violent agreement with each other on this point, it would appear.

This morning on the way to work someone stopped in the middle of Anderson at the turn off to Macleod very quickly.. Slid a bit. Someone behind him had to swerve out of the way and nearly spun out. I was able to change lanes and slow down. I slowed down thinking there must be somebody on the road or some hazard or something. Nope... the light for the turn lane to the far left turned red. So he just stopped.

This spot right here. There are no lights in the Westbound direction.

You expect us to believe YOUR dad had a vehicle with an internal combustion engine? Dude. Replace start the engine with saddle the nag, and we can go from there.

Below speed limit is not against the rules, but if you are below the speed limit AND impeding traffic due to driving an unusual speed, that is against the rules.

You might have a point that driving 10-20 slower in inclement weather should not be considered unusual speeds. However, anyone driving those speeds are supposed to be in the right lane to allow someone to pass and if others still cannot pass them, they are also supposed to pull over to allow others to pass.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

I don't know why people were still driving scared in a little slush this morning.

Long light's about to change and the guy can't push his 35 to 50 so we could both make it through.

Wasn't in a rush, but it still killed me inside, especially when I see it's a fully grown man behind the wheel.

I already think idling your car to let it "warm up" has to be one of the most wasteful things you can do, but it really annoys me in my neighbourhood when everyone has a double garage filled with crap, so they need to do the "warm up" idle as they don't park their cars in the garage.

I bought an inexpensive Diesel truck just to park on my driveway and idle it.

I start it and let it idle all day while I go to work and turn it off when I get home. It only travels from my house to the gas station and back and then I idle it in my driveway some more.

I'm doing my part for the environment....are you?!?

I went to throw a few things in my bin last night, and the lid was solidly frozen closed. I had to ram it into the side of the house to get it open. I suspect there will be a lot of bins that aren’t fully emptied. We should demand teflon-coated, heated bins.

I’ve been told it’s a privilege to expect that the green bin gets emptied, so you’re own your own!

(After a complaint to 311, they’re coming to pick up the green bin and 1 bag of leaves)

A quick 'macho man' elbow to the lid top and center on the edge always fixes this for me.

Wouldn't this require jumping off your garage?
