He got his chances but if he's unable to get points again tonight then throwing Binnington off to the point the Flames get a bunch of goals is another way he can contribute.

Going to the game tonight.

The fan in me always wants the Flames to win.
The internet Hockey nerd in me wants the Flames to lose so they can make a plan forward.

I'm willing to give the Flames a good 10 games to find their footing. I mean, when we zoom out, this is a team with...

1. A new defensive system they're still trying to get right
2. New players they're still trying to find chemistry for
3. A new coach they're still feeling out and trying to work with
4. Injuries/suspensions to a handful of potentially key players (Andersson, Pelletier, Ruzicka)

We've switched a lot of tires on the car, AND the driver, and I don't know if it was reasonable to expect instant resounding success.

I'm more worried about the give-a-crap level of players (which is why I'm loving every time Zadorov gets interviewed because you can see he cares) and the invisibility of Kadri (where is the 'snarl' and 'edge' and such that he is meant to bring?)

But... I'm not writing the season off yet. The right things still have time to click.

You're creating the chances, lets bear down and reward yourself by scoring the goal.

A lot of missed nets its pretty ridiculous. Guys in close firing wide. Its a bit comical that at this level you are missing the net in close like that, at least hit a post or something.

Also need our D to be in the play a lot more carrying pucks out of the defensive out of trouble spots along the boards and transports it through the neutral by skating with it.

I'd guess missing the net is due to players trying not to hit the giant goalies in the crest. Still comes down to a lack of finish which this team is cursed with.

I fully expect them to come out and win tonight. Blues aren't a strong team right now.

The flames arent a contender but they are a bubble playoff team. In true flames fashion they'll stay in the race and barely miss playoffs.

Since it's Kipper's birthday today I expect nothing less than a shutout for the Flames.

Missing the net (finishing confidence) is this teams biggest issue - because it also leads to fewer rebound chances.

Scoring Chance Shot Attempts per 60: 29.8 (5th)
Scoring Chance Shots on goal per 60: 13.8 (24th)

High Danger Shot Attempts per 60: 14.02 (1st)
High Danger Shots on goal per 60: 7.33 (17th)

They have to start hitting the net on these chances they are generating.
