Living in the suburbs sounds like a nightmare. I don’t think twice about our garbage/recycling collection.

I take it downstairs to a big room, throw the garbage in the garbage bin, cardboard in the cardboard bin and every few weeks throw my bottles and cans in the bottles and cans area, and that's it. High-rise life rules.

Just make sure the place you buy has a back alley and the bins are all back there. I couldn't imagine the pain in the ass, hassle, smell and ongoing nightmare if you had to roll out your bins all the time to the front and then put them back.

That would be a ####ty way to live.

Not sure if serious...

I'm happy to trade a weekly stroll up and down the driveway for not having an alley behind my house, but the good news is there seems to be a type of home suitable for everyone's preferred garbage situation

I think where you went wrong was assuming people aren’t just generally horrible.

So I borrow my neighbour’s truck today. When I get in the tank is full, which suggests to me that he’s doing well enough to keep it filled on a regular basis even in this economy and therefore would probably be insulted if I filled it up as a thank you for lending me his ride for the day. But sure enough he gets visibly annoyed when he noticed the tank wasn’t filled.

“Oh well” I thought to myself, hoping he would just get over it instead of getting unnecessarily worked up over nothing. But then he takes a whiff of the interior of the truck, again gets visibly annoyed and proceeds to give me the look. Meanwhile I’m thinking to myself bro how can you expect me to smoke outside in this weather? I mean it’s freezing out, quit being so unreasonable.

The whole thing really just soured my day but one of us had to be the grown up so I just shrugged it off, thanked him for loaning me the truck and walked away. But if I’m being honest the whole thing irritated me so much that I didn’t even feel bad about not telling him that I messed up the alignment a little bit after driving over a pothole and now the truck is pretty noticeably pulling to the left.

Bottom line is inconsiderate people really grind my gears.

He may as well have just taken a big dump on the passenger's seat. Similar level of disrespect.

The list of people I'd loan my car to is pretty short. Certainly not to a neighbour, short of an emergency.

I realize that there's a lot of good people out there but it seems at least once a week, every week I find myself saying "people suck".

Borrowed a vehicle to a relative for a few weeks, maybe a few months. Windshield had a crack in it, but wasn’t blocking your view, now it’s cracked way worse. Front seat has a rip and below half a tank a gas in it (was about 3/4 full when I lent it).

The windshield I don’t even care that much, just take responsibility for it, it was already cracked - #### happens. I will note that the extra cracks in the windshield are new ones, not extension of existing crack.

The seat, you could have at least said something. For #### sakes.

The tank not being filled was just insulting.

Needless to say, no more borrowed vehicles to them.
