Conroy needs to acquire an additional first, which is where Tij will go if he keeps this going.

There are some for the conditions on our 1st rounder next year, is possible that we won't even have a 1st in 2024? I just don't have the energy to figure it out myself.

If it is pick 20-32, Montreal can claim it if they want to.

Playing with Cristall should be a huge boost for Iginla. I bet he gets over 2 points per game this year. If Iginla can score goals, it'll work for both of them.

Even if the Flames can't draft Tij, I'll personally love him as a player automatically just because he's Iggy's kid.

This would be such a Flames situation.
1) make the playoffs
2) lose in round 1
3) get pick 20
4) Habs take Tij Iginla
5) suffering

I can't believe the flames gave up a potentially decent 1st rounder in that Monahan deal, and the worst piece are the conditions on it, the more I read it the more I realize what a bad deal Treliving made there, it's got some top 10 protection but beyond that could end up being a really good pick in the 10-16 range with how bad the flames were last year.

a little iggy jr news...
https://www.kelownanow.com/watercool...uts/#fs_130625
Quote:
As Kelowna prepares for tonight’s divisional showdown, a pair of Rockets were recognized by NHL Central Scouting in the preliminary players to watch list for the 2024 NHL entry draft.
Tij Iginla was given a ‘B’ ranking, which implies a potential second- or third-round selection, while Hiroki Gojsic was given a ‘C’ ranking, which impies a potential fourth- or fifth-round selection.
Iginla has been a major part of the Rockets early-season success, with 12 goals and seven helpers through just 11 games, while Gojsic has accumulated two goals and three assists to begin his WHL rookie campaign.

If the Flames don't draft Tij, I may scream.

All about Tij.
Flames need extra 2nd round picks and extra 1st round picks.

If he was Tij Smith he wouldn’t be on the main page. 18 points in 48 games last year. He’ll be a big riser if he goes top 15

While I think there's something to be said about that, he already has more points this year and it's still October. More goals than games. It's a pretty dramatic improvement.
Just turned 17.

Nah, the Flames thing to do is he will be available when we pick, and we don't select him and take a random guy with size from Europe instead.
In fact, I think that's exactly what we will do. He will be available when our 2nd round pick comes around, CP rejoices, Flames step up to the podium and selects some guy named Andreas Svenborgsson, CP melts down.

Because this year isn’t done and all of the other top 15 projected forwards had a minimum of 60+ points last year. He was projected as a 2nd/3rd round pick going into this year. Hence he would be a big riser if he went in the first round.

Iginla literally being in the organization talking in connie's ear will ensure we don't pass on him if we have am appropriate pick to select him with.
I just don't see Connie shafting a young Iginla while sitting at the table with Iginla.

I’m not saying he will suck by any means. I just don’t think that ranking is low as of now and no one would raise an eyebrow if his last name wasn’t Iginla. I hope he ends up in the Flames org but with reasonable expectations
