In addition to being tied for 2nd to last in points with a team that has played one fewer game than they have, the Oilers now have a -10 goal differential.

The Oilers were in it for a while, but they have like 2 10 minute D, 2 5 minute D, and 2 0 minute D. Eventually they look like NHL 97 defensemen with line changes off and fatigue on.

Or maybe beating these bums will be the boost the Flames need to start playing a bit better. One can hope. It would bring me immense joy seeing the grease at a 1-6-1 record at the end of the weekend.

They have 10 goals at even strength, and have given up 20 at even strength or on the PP

They are 1-4-1, despite having 7 PP goals in 6 games. Basically, in order to be a .500 team, they need 2 PP goals per game.

how can this be, he was an "elite" player last year who scored 100 points, of course none of those points were a result of playing on the PP with the wonder twins. So many elite players on that team, hard to keep track

Obviously they are too worn out from Captain Connor getting them to start skating in June or whenever it was. Just don’t have enough stamina left to get them through games.

At least the Captain took a break so he will be a little fresher while the minions plug along.
