MLB should not be too unhappy. Phoenix and Dallas are big markets.

Love seeing the D Backs get through. Their top players showed up. And the former Blue Jays are doing their part.
That trade will continue to haunt the Jays.

It looks like a dud because there is almost negative intrigue for it. Even if either of these teams were my favourite there just isn't anything compelling about it. Maybe it'll end up being an all-time great series, you never know, but on paper this is the worst World Series I can remember, and will of course easily be the lowest rated ever.

The fact there's former Blue Jays I like on both teams is good enough for me!

Lol I mean we just had two of the top six media markets in last year's World Series, and that netted...the second lowest rated WS ever, behind only the COVID WS. Neither of these teams has any national following, hell they both just got their home stadiums invaded in the LCS. It'll be the worst rated WS ever without a doubt.

No I just don't think either team is all that compelling.
DBacks are plucky I guess, Rangers were built through big money free agents and spending $'s. So easy to cheer for Arizona but these are two very non descript franchises. Ratings will be abysmal.
Not saying they don't deserve to be there. They beat some good teams.

At 84 wins, Arizona is the worst WS team since the 83 win Cards in 2006 (they won).
They are the third worst league champion of all time. That is part of the lack of appeal for me I guess but this happens every few years.

They won the games, they deserve to be there. But if the most compelling reason is "former Blue Jays!", then you're tacitly admitting there's not any actual good reason to watch. It's baseball, you can probably find a connection to almost every team with how often guys 6-25 change in most rosters. Maybe we'll all be shocked and we'll get a seven game barn burner with six extra innings games and tons of lead changes. Given how much these playoffs have already sucked though, I'm skeptical it'll all turn around now with a mediocre team playing the streakiest team in the league.

This Diamondbacks team reminds me a lot of the mid-teens Royals squads (yes, the one the beat the powerful Jays). Not a tremendous amount of power, but a lot of contact bats, team aggressiveness, a workable staff, and a lockdown bullpen. A team that plays baseball well.
Also, the World Series is going to be played entirely on artificial turf, in 2023, certainly not the most aesthetic of venues around.

Time to brace for another Finals loss for my favorite teams!
Flames 2004
Cardinals 2009
Suns 2021
But truly, I am feeling REALLY good about this team! They've got some serious mojo

Odd take to consider him bitter over a team that didn't even beat the Astros. If he was all over the Rangers that would be bitter. Arizona sports fans are barely above LA and Miami when it comes to frontrunning, this isn't breaking news.

Well it's either you or me.
Flames 2004
Rangers 2010
Rangers 2011
I'm 0/3 in finals.
Rangers and Flames lost the exact same way in 2004 & 2011

At least the rent is free here.
Definitely disappointed when my team gets eliminated but not bitter, I will post in the MLB thread all season long, not just going to show up when my team wins.
Anyway good luck Jordan! I will cheer for the Diamondbacks over a rival. Rangers going to be tough to beat though, they are like a slasher movie villain, very hard to kill.

Apparently this is the fewest combined wins for the two teams in the WS (174) in MLB history.

Rangers have a lot of bad mojo to overcome to win. Will never forget David Freese putting it to the Rangers in 2011 in Games 6 & 7. Nelson Cruz flailing in RF in the 9th in game 6 was almost Bill Buckner bad, should have caught the final out for Texas.
