It's this fn terrible perimeter shot system, full tilt. The only thing that is been remotely productive was the Gaudreau- Lindholm, Tkachuk line and that worked because they didn't play that system, they did there own thing that as Darryl put it was just guys wanting to pad their personal stats. So sick of people on here saying they have no talent, every hockey expert said they had one of the deepest rosters in hockey. |
These comments were made when they first acquired Huby, Weegar and Kadri. It hasn’t translated to success and the team record speaks for itself. Analysts are often wrong and there wasn’t any that I’m aware of calling this a deep roster in the offseason. It’s a roster of good complimentary pieces. There is no upper end or elite talent which you need in this league.

It’s not a “maybe”. It’s 100%.

Won’t allow a rebuild. Won’t even allow people to say the word. The height of stupidity. And he doesn’t need anymore ####ing money either. Flames need a new owner worse than any other NHL team.

Things will improve after he’s out. Hopefully it’s after the building is finished so he can capitalize on his rape of the city and go live in Switzerland forever. He’s literally like an evil villain at this stage.

Flames currently poised to draft 8th.
Gotta get 1st or 2nd.

I'm getting pretty stoked about how bad this year's team may actually be.

I was thinking this too, because in order for Huberdeau to be a top line guy he has to play a 200 foot game. Last game when he got caught coasting was a prime example of why he was not a first line guy in Florida and Barkov was. He has to bring it and if he is not scoring he has to have a strong 2 way game.

He didn't ask to be traded, he just told Treliving he wasn't going to sign an extension. I get it's kinda the same thing, but Tkachuck was way more upfront than Johnny was and made sure the Flames got something for him. Johnny literally agrred to a new contract one day and then went back on his word then next, with no time left to even try to trade him.

Besides... to this day, I remain convinced that Tkachuk really did want to stay but it all hinged on getting Sutter to relent on his "no-Captain" schtick. I think he talked to Sutter after the season ended and that's what switched him from wanting to stay vs wanting to leave.

I can't imagine anyone deciding to stay and work for a stubborn boss who refuses to bend on anything, when they have an opportunity to go somewhere else and be way more appreciated.

Barkov missed a ton of games...Huberdeau was on the top line a lot
he outscored Barkov by 27 points

Flames need to help him figure it out, there is no other choice. Current players aren't working. Get some new ones, change the style, whatever

I don't know how good this draft is, but if they could trade Lindholm, Hanifin and Tanev for futures, they could fill the cupboards with some proper skill, which they currently do not have.
