Seen Killers of the Flower Moon tonight and really liked it. It's a huge departure from Scorsese's regular cool gangster movies, and a huge change in his style as well. His movies traditionally seem to focus on european gangsters and this is completely different. Culturally it's significant and probably not a story that would get traction without his name so it's interesting. How I'd rank his top 6:
1) Goodfellas
2) Casino
3) Taxi Driver
4) Raging Bull
5) Killers of the Flower Moon/Wolf of Wall Street
I think this movie will be remembered for years to come. Really really good. Runs long but I watched it in a theatre with recliners so it was just fine. Just a really good story about greed.

Continuing my horror watching binge in October, watched 2 5 star movies today. The first Nightmare before Christmas, which is flawless and the 2nd is the lesser known Korean film Tale of 2 Sisters. Tale of 2 Sisters was a very pleasant find, it was absolutely terrifying in a few parts, had a great story that kept you guessing and trying to figure out what's happening until the ending pulled it all together. The story without spoiling anything is about 2 sisters who are reunited after one returns home from the hospital who live with their father and step mother, but the house is potentially haunted.

Remade in the US as The Uninvited.

Fade to Black is one of the first 80s slasher films about a huge cinephile in LA who doesn't have a great life (bullied, his parents are dead, gets pushed around alot) but every day he escapes into film, especially golden age Hollywood. After being stood up on a date with a Marilyn Monroe lookalike he slowly descends into madness before going on a killing spree while dressing up as several classics Hollywood monsters. Really great movie, also was Chris Pines first role.....his Mother plays the main characters aunt who is taking care of him and she was pregnant with him during filming

That's a really interesting premise for a slasher. Sounds like something that could easily happen IRL with how much escapism goes on and how many people are coping day to day with #### by indulging in entertainment.
Location: A simple man leading a complicated life....

I ended up watching Nun 2 and was surprised at how good it was. It didn't have an enormous amount of blood and gore we see in most horror flicks produced today. Liked the storyline and the few scares that were injected into the movie.

I went to see Killers of the Flower Moon on Friday and its staggering. It’s like THE IRISHMAN in which the final minutes frame the whole work as it all comes into focus.
It’s in conversation with GANGS OF NEW YORK the same way SILENCE is in conversation with THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST

I can't tell if you liked it or not based on this.

I absolutely loved Flower Moon, it's different than anything else Scorsese has done, maybe Gangs of New York is the closest. DeNiro makes up for all the garbage he's done recently, he reminds us he's incredible and plays a hell of a character.
I'm not sure if Scorsese is working on anything else right now but at 80 years old he has to be winding down. If we're lucky we'll get 1 more.
