Yes these things tend to even out. They are what they are, a 80-90 point team. Losing one of their only shooters this off-season will hurt them, they have no finishers. On pace for 218 goals (though it is early). Seems very likely that they score fewer goals than last year.

My only point is if you want to take away wins for getting outplayed it has to go both ways.
Goalie is also part of the team.

At least you aren’t pretending Vladar that was actually good that game. I think the team is mediocre and pretty much has to win one goal games but coming from behind after three terrible goals is hard for any team. Let alone 5 bad ones

The Flames sucked too. I agree with one poster wo said that if you're going to lose at least be entertaining. The Panthers at least are entertaining when they lose, this edition of the Flames is lifeless.

I wish we had the talent that we could come out, play listlessly like this, but turn it on for 10 minutes and make it close still because we need less than 25 shots to find the net.
With this group, a 2 goal deficit feels insurmountable.
Must be nice to have gamebreakers that can get a lot done with just a couple of good shifts.

The Flames are going to struggle all season as a middle of the league team. We don't have the elite talent to take us to the next level and must rely on a team effort to win games.
Offering Lindholm and Hannifan extensions would be a mistake IMO. We already have Huberdeau and Khadri on retirement contracts where their best years are behind them. We need to acquire some young talent or draft picks to grow with some of the youth we have in this lineup.
The start of the season so far hasn't been a surprise for me.
