such a Flames move. maybe they can even replicate the NJ/Leafs trade where NJ trades an average D man in Kurvers and sweet Lou gets up to the podium and selects Niedermyer. That is a Flames move for sure.

I don't understand how veteran, key guys look like they are mailing it in and it's game five of the year. Jesus.

I said after Sutter was gone they needed a year coach that could be more creative offensively to fit this roster, like Andrew Brunette. Instead they hire a guy that when he was the head coach for them in the AHL just stifled the development of all the young forwards. That is exactly why when we were doing the head coach search I kept saying anybody but Huska. He is great at talking a great game but he can't coach one. I do wanted him to prove me wrong and maybe he still can, lots of time but man, trying to compete this year and they hire Ryan Fn Huska, just mind boggling.

Did he stifle Mangiapane, Hathaway, Dube, Lomberg, Jooris, Phillips? Did he stifle the D in Andersson, Kylington, or Kulak?

Kadri, much like Neal is the argument for non guaranteed contracts.

I wish the Flames had home time guys that wanted come home on sweetheart deals who have been consistent 30-40 goal guys in their prime.
The Yzerplan plan looks brilliant when you have a elite goal scorer fall into your lap on a sweetheart deal.

It is a young man’s game. Last year the highest scoring forward who was above the age of 30 was Sidney Crosby at 15th highest scoring forward in the league. Panarin was 17th. Stamkos, Malkin, Tavares were also in the top 30. The other 25 players were 30 or younger.

Yes he did. Those guys didn't break out until they got to the big club. Go look at all the young players that failed to develop under him. I already said he is a defensive specialist so not sure why you are bringing D men into it.

I never thought there would be another era to rival the young guns. at least back then, the contracts were not an issue and you could rebuild quickly if you had a good draft or two. this team is going to be bad for awhile and will likely trade 1st round picks to stay relevant and god forbid NEVER rebuild. stay the course

Also sucks to see Tanev body pretty much give out on him. Guy hasn't cheated the game ever but you knew it would eventually catch up to him.
At least it's on the last year of his deal.
Easily one of Treliving best singings.

Starting under .500 after the first 10 games is the kiss of death.
People talk a lot about the Flames just missing the playoffs last year, when really they were propped up by a good start.
Alternatively, it is very rare that a team starts under .500 after ten games in and makes the playoffs.

Detroit was on a back end of a back to back. How did they look so good? We are the easy part of teams schedules. They lick their lips when they see us coming. O thing has changed since last year except moving our top goal scorer.

Overreacting is a fair concern, but there's nothing worth watching with this team. Entertainment value -1/10. I've got better things to turn my attention to until something changes

Not ready to dump on Huska yet. Look what he has to work with. Offence instincts neutered over the last few years in favour of defence defence defence
