The cringiest part is that Rider fans can't seem to notice he's a complete Rider Homer to the point of embarrassment

It has been awhile but I don't remember being mad at play calling and I found DD to be way too conservative in those years and criticized the play calling all the time.
Those games were both games lost by the players in my view not the coach.

Even the Ottawa loss was a player issue more than coaching.

the only issue i had with Dave was in the Ottawa game, where we needed a TD at the end, i thought instead of getting cute with Buckley, you run the bruising RB Messame there. but yes, he cant help all the poor plays made by Jorden, Mitchell etc.

Yes I did hate that call, but that is one call in a game of terrible plays, especially BLM.

Mitchell for all his accolades and couple grey cup rings was often a pretty average QB in the big game. We all agree, those great Stamps teams underachieved in a big way, that goes back the early 90's teams too

He has like 8 interceptions in the grey cup.
The defence was a huge part of those teams.

if we didnt have a QB who would force the ball, a game manager might have had 4 rings with those teams and that defense. Mitchell was a good QB for the stamps but i feel like we could have won at least 2 cups with a slightly above average guy. Those teams were stacked

Officiating in the 2nd half was a little suspect with the ticky tack roughing the passer calls and stopping the clock at the end when the Argos player went down in bounds. League didn't get what they wanted but the rest of Canada did. Stamps playing with house money now as they can ball out with no pressure as a few weeks ago they probably didn't think they would be in the playoffs with a week to go in the season.

It's unfortunate, but this league is on it's last legs. The downward trend has been occurring since 2010. Every grey cup champion since then has been very mediocre - including the couple that the Stamps have won. At least back in the day every team had a QB that was capable of throwing for over 300 yards on a regular basis with Flutie/Garcia/Burris/Dickenson, Calvillo, Ray, Pierce/Lulay, Mcmanus, Allen, Jones etc. That's a rarity nowadays with the garbage QBs that teams are rolling out there. Having a garbage gimmick QB like Strevler winning put the league even further back. Looking into the stands, the league has lost the young demographic permanently - they are all into the NFL, fantasy and betting that the CFL has no chance in capturing.
Every GC champion over the last few years is null and void in my opinion due to the low quality of football being played. If a 6-12 Stamps team wins it all this year, that will further cement the point.

The league is doing so bad it basically gets Blue Jay TV numbers week in and week out. Attendance across North America is down, yes the CFL will feel that in particular but feel like everything is cyclical and ownership hopefully will eventually figure it out

I realize there's some negativity in here about a 6-12 (maybe 7-11) team making the playoffs. But I gotta say, I'm pretty stoked that the Stamps made the playoffs.
I know they don't have a realistic chance of winning the Grey Cup. But I'm still going to look forward to that playoff game. For once, I'll have no expectations of this team winning in the playoffs. I'm just going to enjoy the bonus football that I didn't expect to see.
I also know it doesn't change the fact that this team sucks. But it's pretty great that in the exceedingly rare season that the Stamps suck, the two teams wearing green suck even more.
This is totally redeeming the season for me.

IF the team realizes that it is crap and needs major changes, especially at QB then sure a play-off game even getting destroyed by BC could be fun. If they in anyway use this to justify not making changes, especially keeping Maier as the only QB option then making the play-offs will have been the worst thing that could happen to the team.

Where was the fumble against the Redblacks? out of touch. Watch some games. Dave has been bad, back to when Huf was still the head coach.

It's the CFL playoffs. Everyone has a realistic shot.
