Went and saw the Creator on the weekend. It’s average pushing on above average. Definitely didn’t think it was “walk out of the theatre” material.

Pretty great visuals that might not translate as well from home but it was a a fine watch. Some decent action scenes but the flow of it seemed a little scattered- mixed in with some obvious plot holes or just questions in general about the story.

Not disappointed in it but nothing special. Fairly predictable story arc but thought John David Washington was great

Easily the best entry so far.

Enjoyed a skeptical Poirot trying to keep it together in the face of "supernatural" events. Well executed and even a little creepy.

Fantastic camera work too.
I found the plot too predictable and at times boring. Saying it was scary is a bit of a reach and this is coming from someone who likes a good scare.

Creepy, not scary. The atmosphere of the film was probably done better with how it was shot than most blumhouse films do.

That's fair I guess. The one particular character in question locking the door to the room was a bit of a giveaway, but I still enjoyed the mic-drop reveal at the end.

Anyone ever watch Good Cop/Bon Cop?

about 15 years old, but I think it's a really good movie. If you haven't seen it, it's a great Canadian film.

Sequel was good, too. The actors have tons of chemistry.

Watched the new Haunted Mansion on a flight last night. Truly awful. I fell asleep for a solid 30 minutes in the middle and from what I can tell, missed nothing. A really solid cast too (with a couple of surprise cameos), so kind of disappointing.

Also, it is mainly a kids movie, or at least geared to families. Why make it 2+ hours long especially when you have such a flimsy story to tell?

So it can fill the inflight program.

Definitely a top Canadian comedy. Love that the plot is basically just a hate letter to Bettman and the NHL over losing the Nordiques.

Had no idea there is a sequel, will check it out.

I think it's been out long enough we could handle a parody of it. Poutine Cop, Doughnut Cop.

I started watching one Halloween movie a night. That will take me up to the 31st. I can't remember all of the ones I've watched, and I know some are pretty terrible, but the original still holds up as a classic.

Watched the 80s horror movie The Stuff. What a hilarious fun movie, I was very entertained from beginning to end. Highly recommend this, I wish I could watch this in a theater would be a blast.

Watched Killers of the Flower Moon last night.

It's already in my top 3 Scorsese films of all time, right behind Raging Bull and Taxi Driver.

A completely immersive film, all the attention to detail is exceptional. Leo DiCaprio gives one of this most authentic and honest performances. Nothing big and flashy, just a real character that is incredibly believable. I'll say the same thing for Robert DeNiro. Just a fantastic and understated performance from him. One of his best in an incredibly long time. Lily Gladstone is tragic yet stoic throughout, a fantastic performance from her as well. Plenty of good supporting characters and performances.

This is a fairly long film, but I didn't feel like there was any fat to cut. No wasted scenes or moments. Everything had a purpose. Everything left in was useful to telling the story.

Truly an incredible film. Just be sure you're ready to sit down for 3.5 hours before committing to watching this one. It's absolutely worth it, but it will eat a chunk out of your day.

9.5/10.

I'm heading out to see it today, looking forward to the 3H 26M running time, love it! The opportunity to see a new Scorsese film should be appreciated.

Sidenote, Lily Gladstone was born in Kalispell and raised in Browning, MT.

Lists like that are always very subjective, but this really did feel like a distinct and important film in his career.
