Just forget the advanced stat metrics for a sec and just watch the game man, I swear he gave away the puck every time because afterward my son & I would rewind it to watch, laugh and then curse plus I wasn't even inebriated so I'm pretty positive, lol

Why even throw a hard hit with one second left? Cheap hit.

I can assure you he didn't...maybe just maybe it's a confirmation bias
and those aren't my stats
It certainly wasn't one of his worst games the team dominated possession with Huberdeau on the ice tonight and NHL stats don't have him with a single giveaway

Huberdeau has been better, but he's still struggling to make the passes I expected he would be elite at given his reputation as one of the best playmakers in the league.
Had a 2 on 1 with Mangi and of course he didn't shoot but instead forced a bad pass that didn't connect.

Well I couldn't disagree more and if I was getting paid and didn't have a life, then I'd go through the game all over again and document every instance when he absolutely gave the puck away by either a bad pass, battle along the boards or passing across the CBJ blue line.....just watch, Warrener will agree with me on Monday's Burn Burner, cheers

Yeah I'm not saying he was unreal or anything but to say he was the worst Flame and one of his worst games...
no, by all metrics it was not

Plus please understand, I am not a Huberdeau hater, I want him to succeed and was actually ecstatic with the trade but I watch games and objectively, he has been very underwhelming

Nope, watched until they scored the empty net and then turned it off only to go back after seeing on social the hit by Andersson. I'll admit I might have been distracted the first half of the 2nd but viewed the 1st & 3rd in its entirety....go Flames!

Sorry I meant Warrener only caught 3 mins of the game not you. He says the same stuff every game and often doesn't even watch the whole thing.
honestly though Huberdeau was one of the Flames better forwards...not the highest bar tonight though. Part of the reason he seems to lose the puck so much is because he has the puck so much.
somebody else posted those Huberdeau stats earlier and it was well thanked so I think a lot of posters thought he played at least half decent

I liked it tbh we need more guys who care and pissed when they lose

I'm not worried, played an ok game, Markström was amazing, Martin was good too. Had chances to tie in the 3rd.
Early season, look at Oilers, makes things better

He was marginally better in the third but still completely incompetent with the puck whenever he was on the powerplay, I have no clue what he's even trying to do most of the time but this has to be in the top three of worst game played as a Flame!

Honest question: Is this supposed to be green text?

If they are still trying to score with one second left, they deserve to be hit with one second left.

I've stopped expecting Huberdeau to be a game changing elite player. I just don't think he's that. Unfortunately he's most likely never going to live up to the 10.5.
He can still be a good and useful player though. Probably closer to value around 8.
I think his best case is a well balanced ppg top 6 winger. Probably similar to the production of giroux, benn and kessel and how it has tapered down since they entered their 30s, but with some productive seasons.
I dont believe he can be the primary offensive weapon on a cup winning team at this point.
Edit:
The fact that this version of Huberdeau is one of the better flames players isn't comforting for me. It's highly concerning and highlights the lack of top end talent on this team.
But I do think he's been decent

Just finished watching the game.
Wtf Raz. You should absolutely be suspended for that hit. That was brutal.

I argue that just doesn’t matter anymore. It’s a predatory hit on a vulnerable player. Bad play by Raz.
Flames played pretty well, but even strength offense is a real problem for this team. Real concern for me is that the offense looks no better than last year…and when you’re a team that struggled to score, and you trade your leading scorer for a bottom-6 forward, I’m not sure we should have expected anything different?

That's the thing. He looks really good at times, but then follows it up with boneheadedness. He looked good on the powerplay, only to pass the puck right to a Blue Jacket player and caused a shorthanded rush against.
In general, I think he as been OK so far this season and has looked better on average than he did most of last season, but he is still making bad decisions. He isn't the reason why they lose when they lose, but a $10.5 million player needs to be better than that.
It's a long season and I am cautiously optimistic that he will get it together based on the effort he is giving so far and some of the advanced metrics, but his mistakes and moments of poor judgment are still notable.

Yeah, when you spend that much percentage of cap you better get a Fleury/Iginla who brings it all the time.
I’m not mad at Huberdeau but everything you said is true.

Lots of shots from outside and nobody able to go in front of net for rebound. Flames may be one of the worst team with the lowest rate successful pass. Can't complete a pass.
Blue jackets was one of the easiest team to play. They are not aggressive in D zone and gave Flames a lots of space but somehow Flames couldn't do much.

It's textbook charging. Left his feet to deliver a check.
Should get two games minimum.
