Way too early for this conversation, but theoretically, if the 6-12 Stamps somehow won the Cup, how close to the worst league champion of all time would they be?

I think the healthy Stamps are a pretty decent team

Riders should throw the game...do they really want to hang around Regina for a week to see if the Stamps beat the Bombers who will have nothing to play for

The worst.

We would turn around next season go 16-2 and lose in the west final.

Meh, the CFL is always how you finish. Labour Day isn't the measuring stick for playoffs like everyone says. It really is Thanksgiving. This year proves it.

This would be an extreme example but the 2001 team shows it can be done and going 3-0 in the playoffs makes up for a lazy bunch of non descript and unmemorable losses in July and August.

There is zero chance of it happening but they would be by far the worst of all time and not even close. The CFL has never been this bad in my lifetime and this time is terrible even by those low standards.

Whichever team wins this year would be in the bottom half, if not lower, of GC Champs the past 20-ish years.

I hope that if they make it back to BC in two weeks that they have a similar game plan. They are a running team first. IIRC, something similar happened last year, big win in BC near the end of the regular season by rushing the football and then they get to the playoff game and they went away from what they are good at and what BC can't do. Just keep the ground game going until the Lions prove they can stop it.

Does anyone remember the Ottawa Rough Riders of the early 1980s that went into the Grey Cup with a 5-11 record? They had a lead at halftime as well if I recall correctly but ended up losing.

I do remember that game, I think JC Watts was the QB for Ottawa and they were playing Edmonton in that Grey Cup game and if memory serves, the Rough Riders had a 22-1 lead at one point, but squandered that lead.

Will never forget it.

At that time in my life I think i hated Edmonton sports teams more than I liked my favorite teams.

That game was supposed to be a complete and utter blowout by the Esks.

JC Watts had other plans though....and IIRC he was named MVP of the game in a losing effort.

Dave friggin Cutler at the end for a mammoth comeback win

Peyton Logal provides an element of speed from the backfield that has been lacking this season. He's a threat to make a big play anytime he gets his hands on the ball. Him being back definitely makes the offense a little more dangerous than it has been all season and allowed Maier to play game manager which suits his abilities well.

I resemble that remark - I was alive to watch this classic ending between the Roughriders and Rough Riders in the 64th Grey Cup.

Dear god I pray no 6-12 team ever wins the grey cup. The cfl is already losing fans because people think the league is a joke. Having a 6-12 champion would only support the idea that the league is in a downward spiral.

always hear about the "best" fans in Saskatchewan. looks like a nice day and there looks to be many empty seats there. the only thing they are best at is being obnoxious and somehow thinking their team is anything special
