I mean a devastating Jameis pick-6 might make this the best TNF game of all-time.

Welp, at least it was exciting. Actually impressed with Carr that 2nd half. Moreau you blew it bud.
Funny how I'm actually feeling positive after that loss, that's the best the offence has looked all year the last 20 minutes. Something to build on...plus it's the NFC South, you're never really out of it..

Moreau is going to be very unpopular this week. What a drop.

Saints fans got the full Derek Carr experience last night. He's been pretty mediocre this season but that seems to be the case every time he's in a new offense which has been nearly every 2nd or 3rd year of his career. He will be better next season with a year under his belt but with their easy schedule they really should make the playoffs this year.

They still probably have a good chance of winning the division because they have only played two divisional games and neither Atlanta or Tampa look good enough to run away with the #1 spot. I wouldn't be surprised if it came down to the final week where NO plays Atl.

I think TB looks very much like they could do that....but that division is just flat out weird almost every year.

I just don't trust Baker even though I do want to like him. I don't know the QB comparison stats but I think he is currently in the bottom half of all the metrics so that probably isn't good enough to take the division although his peers are equally bad.

Atlanta has Ridder. I can't see them winning the division with him as QB.

I think he's actually doing pretty decently statistically relative to his past few seasons. He's a low ceiling guy but that division is not good so if he can maintain his current level, they have a chance but like you I don't really have a lot of faith in him to maintain this level throughout an entire season.

The Saints are 3-4 with wins against the Panthers, Patriots, and Titans who collectively had combined for 3 wins.
The only team that they have played out of their weight class was Jacksonville last night who should be on fumes by now.
So I don't think they're a very good team right now, but they have such an easy schedule that they have a shot at 8 wins which is enough to win that Division.
The Falcons and Bucs game this weekend might shed some light as to whether or not Tampa is a cut above this tier or if they're more like the Falcons and Saints.

I actually finally came up with a positive for having the NFC South winner in the playoffs. They will be a layup win for the Cowboys in the WC round, which could help keep McCarthy there another year. But yeah the division sucks insane amounts of ass, and with the Bucs and Saints in cap hell, the Panthers and Falcons also not being very good, it could keep sucking ass for a few more years.

I don't think anything should be considered a layup for McCarthy at this point.

I mean they crushed the Bucs in the playoffs last year, and this years NFC South winner might end up being even worse than that Bucs team.

My dream is a 7-11 Stamps team and a 7-10 Saints team both making the dance this year. Both are possible.

No. Matched up with the NFC North which only has one good team and the AFC South which is the same. Each team is getting 12 games against other weaker teams. Plus a couple of them get easier games with the other three teams. So one of them likely wins 8 games because a 4-2 Division record, maybe 5-1 plus 2-3 wins against the NFC North and 2 vs AFC South.
Of these teams Tampa is winning in this weight class with losses to Detroit and Philly who are in the heavyweight Division. Need to see them lose to an Atlanta before I'm ready to drop them down to the Saints and Falcons tier.
