Been saying this for years. The tech is there, no excuses anymore.
I do vaguely recall reading that they may have tried putting tech in the pucks in a testing phase and that the players bitched about it feeling different.

In this case, use common sense. The puck was visible at very worst, and it looked in, on the goal line on the initial shot, and then the goalie slid back 6 inches on top of that.

They shouldn't even need a chip in the puck, incase they're worried about that or cost since puck go into the crowd so much.
It's not like tennis balls or soccer balls have tech in them but both sports have line technology.
