Also Cassandra is probably the best main character in any AC game save maybe Ezio
Yup, to me that is by far the best in the entire series. There was just so much to do, and I loved it. The past 2 AC games I felt dragged on the deeper you got, but Odyssey was so much fun that I was legit sad it was over.

Also, I felt that Kassandra is the most badass female character in all of gaming history. Can't comment if the male character would have been more/less fun, but her dialogue and animations were fantastic. Not sure if any AC game will ever top Odyssey.

Without spoiling the story for anyone who hasn't played if I could go back I would have used Kassandra instead of Alexios. She fits being the main character more than he does.

Black Flag still the best for me but Origins is a close second. These two games are amongst the best open world games I have played.

If you haven't played it, absolutely. Part 2 is pretty divisive (I didn't like it) but Part 1 is one of the all time great games IMO.

I committed the sin of playing Part 2 first, but I know all the main story beats from The Last of Us. Looks like it's a ground-up remaster or whatever it's called so I think I'll go for it.

I enjoyed Part 2 but got sick of playing as Abby towards the end.

The first game thankfully does not have a character like Abby.

I consider myself lucky for not playing the game until the PS5 remaster came out. I loved the game and started a new game plus to do it all again with all my gear from the get go. I ended up picking up part 2 when it was on sale and it looked nice even though it was a PS4 title. I hear rumors there is a part 2 remaster coming out. I was not a huge fan of the story in part 2 and it dragged so I ageee with EE that the first is the superior game.

I would put female Commander Shepherd right up there with Kassandra. Jennifer Hale is one of the all-time best voice actors IMO, and playing a renegade FemShep was just so much fun with how hard she went with that script

My 11 year old nephew would find those things pretty cool.

I would say Odyssey is easily #1 and probably one of the most enjoyable (not necessarily “the best”) games I’ve ever played. I was also sad it was over. I think I did every single thing you could do and still could’ve gone for another 100 hours. The characters were great and both the main and side stories were really interesting. And then the world itself was varied and bright.

I’d go Origins as #2 and Valhalla as #3. I tried playing the ones older than that and they just don’t hold up that well IMO, so I might skip Mirage and just hope the next one is more in line with the top three.

Odyssey seems so polarizing, I've seen many people call it the worst in the series (which I don't get). I loved it too. I'm a big history buff and classical Greece (especially classical Athens in its prime) is my all-time favourite setting.

I've read so many books on it, the first time I looked at the pause menu ancient Greece map I already knew so well - along with the immersion-setting pause menu music - I legit got kind of choked up knowing I'd finally get to explore it.

My only real issue with Odyssey was the way too zoomed out, Witcher 3 style camera setting which hurt the immersion for me with the eco-tourism angle. Aside from that, I thought it was great. I used Alexios, I thought he was strong as well.

I took a break from Baldur's Gate 3 after Act 2 and played through a game called Blasphemous on my steam deck. I absolutely loved it. It was challenging but I never found it overly challenging (i.e. maybe had to retry a boss ~10 times to make it through). If you're a fan of pixel art and metroidvanias, I wouldn't sleep on this. Blasphemous 2 is also out and I'll be diving into that one the next time it's on sale.

Spider-Man 2 living up to the hype in my books. Having a ton of fun with the game and enjoying the story some far only about 3 hours in.

Diablo 4, season 2 is far better than season 1 for leveling and drops.

New blood harvest zones are crazy for legendary/unique farming. Doing the main encounter will net you anywhere from 6 to 12 legendary drops. Have played a few days and am already at level 55. I think I may actually attempt Uber Lilith and the new seasonal Uber boss this season.

Lots of ways to farm unique and Uber uniques. Quite enjoying it after taking a few months off thanks to the horrible first season.

An amazing discounted bundle for games from Sid Meier (Civilization, Railroads, etc.)

Probably one of the greatest game developers ever. Really cool guy to chat with too!
