Running backs who are familiar with an offence can adapt to a new team occasionally. Sometimes a guy who's a specialist like a third down pass rusher can too. But unless it's a situation like Hardman going back to his old team it can be tough to fit a guy in mid season.
Will be interesting to see if Hardmans injury last year has crippled him and thats why he's not been used. He was a jet sweep specialist the past couple years. Got injured mid-season and got in like 2 snaps in the AFC title game before reaggravating that injury. With Justin Watson out they might also be looking for another guy to run deeper routes too.

Already the worst Saints OL I've seen this entire century, now both OTs are out tonight due to injuries from last Sunday. This game hasn't even started yet and I'm already sick of it, gonna be an ugly offensive game methinks.
Sounds like Trevor Lawrence should be playing tonight, he's been questionable all week.

This game seems like it could be a flat spot for Jacksonville having traveled back home from London, played a Division game last week, and now heading to NOLA on a short week. I expect a pretty ugly game tonight.

The total is only 40, it's indoors. An ugly game means a high scoring game right? Defenses can score!

Could be right, but Doug Pederson has always done a pretty good job of getting his teams up for games when they're staring down adversity. The Lawrence injury could be a problem if it affects his mobility but that Saints offense is god-awful.

Last Tuesday it was 42.5 and was down as low as 39 earlier this week. With Lawrence looking to play I see it uo to 40.5.
Every single game this week at one point had come down in totals on the lookahead lines. It has been a season where many games are coming in under 40 total points.

I think Pederson is also undefeated on Thursday night too. I think the Jags are the better team. But it's a really bad spot for them. I have the Saints grouped with the Rams, Packers, Vikings, Commanders, Falcons, and Bucs. I have no idea yet who the best of that bunch is...just that two of them probably make the playoffs. I actually think the Rams might be the best of that group because they've played teams like Seattle, San Fran, Philly, and Cincinnati who are all a step up in weight class and not embarrassed themselves.

Trevor Lawrence seems a bit underwhelming for all the hype that came with him.
Just his 3rd season and 2nd under Pederson but his stats are not eye popping and from what I have seen he doesn't seem to be in the tier of like a Luck or the last can't miss QB.

He's a pretty solid starter that you can win with provided there's surrounding talent. Half the battle is not being a total bust when it comes to first round QB's. I just find that the draft has become such big business for the NFL that incoming prospects every year are way overhyped. Elite QB's don't come around nearly as often as draft prognosticators would have you believe. Caleb Williams looks like a very good prospect but I think even he's getting overhyped.

Keep in mind Lawrence is still pretty young. He's nearly three years younger than another darling in Joe Burrow even though they're one draft apart.

Yeah I guess thats true just the hype around them as the next Manning or Brady.
I guess those guys set a standard thats going to be difficult to reach for a lot of guys.
Throwing for 40 touchdowns and 5000 yards seemed like a given.

Ain't that the truth. I got shredded on Twitter in the off-season for not recognizing Bryce Young in a pic before he had even played a game in the NFL, people were acting like he's the Next One.
This past Draft's QB crop felt more Alex Smith calibre than Cam Newton/Joe Burrow, etc, calibre to me, not sure what they're talking about..

I think CJ Stroud will be good the rest is meh.
The fact Carolina traded what could be Caleb Williams and the other 1st for him make it worse.
Bryce seems like a Kyler Murray too small.

The problem with Trevor Lawrence isn't Lawrence per se, although he's not been close to the "promised one" he was thought of coming into the league. It's that QB contracts are such that he will probably end up with something in Burrow's range, or higher, just because "that's what happens". Lawrence at $50 million+ a season just sounds dreadful. But at $25-30 million a season, you can live with that. But if the Jags don't want to pay the $50 million+ there will be a bunch of QB desperate teams that will, so the cycle continues.

Supply and demand. There's not enough high quality QB's to go around so if you have one you either overpay him or you settle for the Garoppolo's of the world at $20-30 million and become worse in the process.

Most teams don't surround their young QBs with enough talent to properly develop. This includes the OL. It's hard to get better when you have a OL that has more holes that Swiss cheese and/or when you don't have anyone to throw to.

When you are not spending on the QB during the first 4 years of the contract, you should be able to surround him with better talent to take advantages of the talent.
Calvin Ridley and Christian Kirk are some pretty good receivers. Can't say I am familiar with the o-line.
Also doesn't help they wasted a year with Urban Meyer.

Should be priority one IMO.
You have a young QB its only fair you give him a chance to see the game standing up and not getting smoked/running for his life. Just to hard a game to fully grasp and command when under constant threat.
Skill players are important but also limited when the line doesnt do its job.
