Interesting they have updated it to a per person number. So in Edmonton 1 in 28.5 people have it. Calgary it's 1 in 10. Much easier to estimate risk this way. Though it's far from an exact number( I think you shed covid long after an infection?) it's still a decent estimator of increasing risk in numbers that make sense.

Wonder if it depends on where and when you go. My kids and I got the Pfizer XBB on Monday, which the pharmacist told me was the latest and greatest.

I think these people hogging all the Cure and getting 5 or 6 vaccines need to start getting charged.
Its just getting unreasonable at this point.

For what it's worth this is what it shows on my Alberta vaccine record for what I got on Monday:
Moderna Spikevax XBB.1.5 COVID-19

Yeah, I just checked mine and it says "Pfizer-BioNTech". I don't know where to go to get the detail you shared, though. I'm at covidrecords.alberta.ca. Filled in my info, it gave me a QR code, which I scanned, and then I pulled that Pfizer-BioNTech name and the date it was administered. Did you go to a different site for more detail?

Went to our big end of year meeting in Florida with ~1200 of my closest friends from all over the US and Canada last week. Some kind of bug going around and a whole bunch of people came back sick.
Kept testing negative (as has everyone else I've talked to) so probably not covid, but man it was nice not getting sick during the lockdown years. Even the people that never take a sick day have been taking time off.

Got XBB at a small pharmacy, didn't pay. Toddler also got XBB at AHS immunization site (can't book under 5s at a pharmacy)
Everybody felt like crap the next day.

Had a guy telling me last night that he was holding out for the Pfizer vax but I didn't get a chance to ask him why. Is there a reason for having a preference for the manufacturer of the vaccine?

When the first covid vaccines were rolling there was a lot of talk about efficacy and side effects being different depending on which one you got. Some people have tried to stick Pfizer for all their vaccine shots presumably for those reasons.

I've always operated on the "get the first one available to you" principle. I'm one of the weird ones that got Astrazeneca first as a result. This latest one was my first dose from Moderna. All others have been Pfizer.
I guess my insides are now the equivalent of "All Sorts" from Gangs of New York.

Interesting. Pharmacy i was at this morning said its not out yet and only Moderna is out. The AHS website used to specify based on location but now just says "covid"

Familiarity, perhaps. I sort of get it but I’d take whatever is available. It’s recommended by the medical experts.

Me, too. That turned out to be awesome for us, though, because it put us first in line for boosters back then.

I have been sick for the past week, not Covid. Feeling tired, nauseated, and today I got a nice dose of the Bon Jovi ####s. Not sure what this bug is.
