I actually respect Draisatl for that answer.
This whole thread is about how over the top and brown nosing the Edmonton media is.
We all know why they asked Draisatl that question, it's because they wanted him to wax poetically about how great he is and how great the Oilers are. That was a softball question teed up for him to stroke his own ego and he chose not to.
I hope he leaves. Having your ego stroked is good, but it can get excessive and creepy and that's how I think it is for those two right now.
That McDavid goal was nothing but a broken play where McDavid was fortunate to have the puck fall right to him. The fact that its being called one of the greatest goals of all time is just ridiculous. I bet it's embarrassing for McDavid to hear stuff like that.

Disagree. All he had to do was change the narrative. Smile. Pump up someone else's tires. Joke around. Pretend to ride the bike.
This also just isn't a Draisatl issue. Its a league wide issue. It lacks life.

It's about much more than that. Actually, it's primarily about the team in my opinion. The media sycophants are gravy.

So when sportsnet was showing the starting goalie stats at the start of last game they used Cambell's career stats and then Saros stats for the season like they do for every other goalie every other game lol.
SN couldn't bring themselves to post his brutal stats, and they wonder why we say its biased

He is routinely interviewed by a guy who dresses up as a hot dog...he's got to pick his battles.

The stars are aligning that Draisatl will be a Blackhawk making $14m+ per year, and it's going to be glorious.

That's certainly a possibility. It would give him the opportunity to center a generational talent rather than play on the wing with one. I think he's going to get more than $14 million though as his next deal won't be a bridge one like Matthews.

It's about Edmonton, and how any and all things associated with Edmonton are No Good. Team, media, fans, sewage-smelling city...if it relates to Edmonton its probably No Good and fit for this thread.

There would be glory in seeing Edmonton suffer but I hate Draisaitl enough that I don't want to see him succeed, even after leaving the stink.
Also I like Bedard so don't want to have to hate his team because of that.
I'd rather see a world where both Edmonton & Draisaitl suffer and never win, whether that's him staying in Edmonton or going somewhere else I don't like and continuing to lose there too.

i think it would be funny if draisaitl went to chicago... just think of bugging oiler fans for years and years that draisaitl wanted to go play with the 'better connor!'
ha!

Does Ty Rattie count? He wasn't developed in Edmonton, but the expectations for greatness started there.
