I wish Arab society could collectively protest for Womens rights, rights for Gay people, and democracy like they were able to protest this fake Israeli bombing. Nothing gets them out in full force like a blood libel against the Jews. Truly remarkable

I was expecting a lot worse. He should have worded it differently I guess, but it wasn’t that bad.

There are rules around wars and it's not acceptable to hit a hospital.”

Still don't see this as anything terrible.
1. It is "absolutely unacceptable" and "not legal" to bomb a hospital.
2. The news coming out of Gaza "is horrific."
3. "international humanitarian and international law needs to be respected in this and in all cases"
4. It is not "acceptable to hit a hospital."
So yeah, how that could bother you I have no idea. And then it was followed up with a tweet further clarifying that "we must determine what happened. There must be accountability."
So tell me, what was so bad about any of that? Also, what was the question that was asked when he answered in French (just for full context...maybe I've missed something)?

Yeah, it wasn't that bad. Pretty typical Trudreau levels, we're so used to worse that it ranks low amongst his blunders.
What's worse is people actually trying to pretend it wasn't obviously directed at Israel. It is what it is.

Oh come on.
These are all valid points...when said to the correct party
If you yell at your child for throwing your wallet in the toilet, then find out it was actually your other child; that doesn't make all the points of your yelling valid anyway.

Meh, still NBD to me. Tweet clarified things. Original statement wasn't wrong at all, but sure, leaned toward blaming Israel, but did stop short of explicitly doing so. Wild that people are yipping about it. It's such a nothing - and was clarified.

What an exhilarating take.
Rather than protesting ethnic cleansing, apartheid and colonization, arabs should really be looking at same sex marriage. That's the real issue that needs to be focused on.
Is it OK that ukraine doesn't have same sex marriage as well, or are they OK with fighting Russia instead?

This isn't an Arab problem, this is a religion problem. Iran did protest for women's rights, and were crushed entirely, by the theological tyrants.

If Trudeau's first statement had just said "we need more information," then half the nation would be yelling about him being unwilling to condemn the zionists for their war crimes, or something like that. If he'd said nothing, you'd all be complaining about him abdicating leadership.
Long story short: keep on manufacturing anger. It's really helping things.

This example is definitely a good one to point to in terms of the truth being hard to come by under fog of war, but I don't think they're remotely equivalent in terms of the consequentiality or the degree of misinformation in question (assuming we actually have all the facts on the hospital incident now). I mean, the children in question were still murdered.

It’s not even in the same ballpark as some of the actually horrible things Israeli politicians have said, but better freak out because Trudeau said international law should be upheld and that you can’t bomb hospitals.
The manufactured outrage is a lot less surprising when you realize those same sentiments get people shouted down as anti-semites and Nazi sympathizers in this thread.

It's a cultural thing. I wish Jews would protest for an end to genital mutilation. Every man deserves the right to a turtle neck if they want one! But it's a cultural thing. How do you alter that when it is part of the orthodoxy and culture?
BTW, when the Americans took back much of Afghanistan people went back to more western ways and women regained many of their rights. The problem is the Taliban and the fundamentalists within the religion. No different than your religion except the fundies aren't in control of the country and have the ability to instigate their theological agenda.

Definitely not, the damage to Israel’s reputation is far worse and there really is no damage to Hamas’ reputation… because it couldn’t possibly be worse. Definitely not equivalent, just an example of people readily accepting something because it’s believable and not because they have all the facts.
