HILARIOUS

I love when Atheletes can tastefully give it back to the fans. One of the best things I've ever witnessed Brett Lutes of the QMJHL's Montreal Rocket was getting hounded by 2 guys in my section all game long. They'd chirp at him, he'd wink as he skated by. While he was on the bench (directly across from out section) they'd be making faces at each other, waiving, motioning to fight, flex etc. Everyone was getting a kick out of it.

When Lutes scored his thrid goal of the game (in a 4-3 loss IIRC) he made a V-Line for our section trash-talking, banged his head off the glass then skated backwards to his bench to do the glove tap thing. Possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen in sport. I was litterally on the floor laughing with tears coming out of my eyes.

When it's done all in fun, it just adds to the game in my opinion.

He was gracefull in the loss, as were the guys who hounded him all game long. They have him a HUGE ovation as he was announced as one of the game's 3 stars.

that's pretty funny. my personal favorite was when a fan was making fun of cteve sullivan when he was cut and bleeding and the fan was making fun of him crying and stuff. ironically enough a puck was flipped over the glass and hit that very fan in the face and cut him, and sullivan got his revenge on the dude. it was lighthearted and really funny. the odds of that same fan getting hit are ridiculous...pretty funny stuff.

lol yeah I saw that on one of TSN's top 10 lists. It's just one of those things that you can point and laugh at the guy if you witnessed it. Then again, you'll probably pull a muscle in your arm while pointing at the guy. It's just bad karma being passed around.

I would just boo Wells more, it means that he lets it get to him. Good players are able to block the hecklers out.

I think it depends on the player. Some players perform better with the attention. I've often seen junior players dig deeper to throw egg in fans faces (see example above).

Remember these guys are entertainers, that's their job to entertain us. If that's making a big play, then signing a baseball and giving it to a fan heckling him, all the power to the player.

I think that's better than trying to ignore then and cracking, which I've also seen happen (hell I've seen a goaltender blow a 6-0 lead because of a certain jack@$$ started to heckle him with the shutout because the game was out of hand ).

All in all it's part of the game, I respect any player that can give it back tastefully. One up each other I say, as long as the player is getting it done on the playing surface they're still doing their job

I think Roy is the president of the Vernon Wells fan club. You hate the signing. We get it already.

I hate the signing too, should have signed with his hometown club and played with his best friend
