Need more information... how long are you going for, any limits on the ticket, do you want relaxing vs exciting city break, etc.
Otherwise I recommend NYC, Belize, Tokyo, Austin, Puerto Vallarta and San Diego.

The most expensive place they fly that you want to go. Use money for anywhere else.

7-10 days max.
A me and her vacation, haven't had one since the kids were too little to know we were leaving them at home (17 & 19 now).
Beach and Sun preferred, some city time but not that important.
Austin is an interesting choice.

Has anyone ever used an Aeroplan trip consultant, whereby they find and build out a trip for you using your Aeroplan points and charge a fee?

In that case I do like Belize. Totally relaxing, go for a week and just chill

Why do I end up with different pricing on Air Canada’s website if I find those flights on Google and use the book through airline option than if I go to Air Canada first and pick the exact same flights?

Do they know you’re coming? Do they meet you at the pub?

Yes, they’re going to buy me a bear. Of maybe a beer; I may have misread.

Are you flying up on Calm Air? How long are you going for?
I’ve been there. The polar bears are great. The town of Churchill is beyond tiny and only good for a day or two. The beluga whales that come into the bay during summer are equally impressive.

My son will be visiting some friends in the US for a few weeks over thanksgiving. It is his first trip by himself. Can anyone recommend an affordable prepaid sim, perhaps one that we can purchase ahead of time? He'll be on the east coast. Rogers roam-like-home is thievery.

Take a look at 7/11 speakout. I used it for a couple years, it's pretty easy/cheap. You can grab a sim from any 7/11 and be running pretty quickly.

Route 66 doesn’t exist anymore but has anyone here driven that journey? I’m wondering what it’s like, your experiences.

If your son's phone supports esims, look into an esim app like airalo.
They mostly do data and the last time I was in the US, it worked well. Bought the 3GB plan for 30 days an cost $11 USD.
Real useful, especially if you are using a messaging app like WhatsApp.
Just disable the Rogers sim when you get on the plane to the USA and enable the esim you purchased. You can always enable the Rogers sim in an emergency for phone calls.
