Yep, 100%. He made the team, but he's far from a finished product. With this team build, I'm okay with him learning on the job on the big club, to be honest. This isn't a contender, we're not going to challenge for anything significant, so may as well let him learn in a top 6 role.

Only another Oilers blowout loss + a jersey toss can salvage this evening.

I'm hoping Pettersson feasts on McDavid's flunkies again.

The team was fine until the Penguins got some serious puck luck the start of the 3rd and that changed the game. I saw a lot of good things tonight. Not worried at all.

I saw some good things too, but those first 2 goals were both the result of bad turnovers - can't really blame puck luck, IMO.

Most of the goals were bad D pinches and D turnovers

It wasn't a rookie wingers poor defensive coverage.

People say stuff they don't actually believe just to be dramatic and I call it out

You are one of those types so I'm not shocked you have a problem.

Maybe you need to shut up and #### off???

Calling the season over after two games with a 1-1 record is dumb obviously

But you guys told us so!

Is hockey the only game where fans of the same team see so many different things?

I saw a very sloppy undisciplined team that should have been losing early somehow eke out a 1-0 lead at the end of the second.

Things quickly went downhill.

Generally all of us see things that validate what we already believe

Lol what bet your liar

I won some bets last year and instructed the losers to give the money to charity. Just calling out nonsense after every loss.

Unless you are a mod dont tell me how to post asshat

It's childish to throw a tantrum and call the season after one loss. If the season is done don't post every game.

Flames looked like they were chasing the game most of the time...did they have much prolonged pressure or possession not on the PP?

They kept things under control but one/many too many defensive breakdowns and bad giveaways.

Flames looked pretty good for the most part until Eat Bread was unable to execute a simple play getting the puck out his zone. Turnover, goal against, and that's that. A shame when preventable plays turn into turning points of a game. The 3 things I'd like to see them clean up in a hurry on this road trip:
- Giveaways
- Making simple plays to get the puck out of their zone
- Missed assignments
Thankfully those things should be pretty easy to fix. Just two games in, go get the next one. Great to see Markstrom play very well again.
