Seems appropriate for this thread. How much theft goes on through the self checkouts?

The nice thing about that kind of theft is the lost revenue comes out of the salaries of grocery chain executives instead of being passed on to non-thieving consumers through higher prices.

Look at all that fresh fruit and vegetables! Thats the problem!
Do you have any idea how many McDonald's Cheeseburgers you could get for $100? You'd eat like a King for a month!!

I had a recipe that required one single potato and I had no time so I dashed over to the neighborhood Superstore.
I bought one single baking potato at Superstore, the price was listed as $2.49/lb on the sign or $5.05/kg at the till (another way to make the price seem cheaper on the sticker). The ONE FREAKING POTATO COST ME $2.45
I know I can buy a large bag of potatoes at Costco for a better price but this is ridiculous when picking up loose vegetables at the grocery store gouges you this way.
It would be cheaper for me to buy a bag of frozen french fries than take the raw potato and turn it into french fries.

Wait until you go to buy a bottle of pop at the Superstore liquor store.

Vodka is the better substitute for a potato.

Are you insinuating that this is vengeance for obscene liquor store prices?
You should see the difference in cost of a beer in Vegas from a Casino vs. a CVS pharmacy!
Its goddamned criminal!
But then they go and rob the CVS!
Granted, the prospect of robbing a Casino when you're not George Clooney maintains some challenges of its own, but still!

Is this a CPism? I feel like it is. Probably a Sliver thread. I just can’t remember.
Also, it will forever be Silver for me. That’s how I’ve always read it in my head and I’m not changing it.

Surprised nobody has brought up inflation on RANCH DRESSING!
Sure it might summon Beetlejuice, but this seems like the right thread.
