Flames Practice Notes - Oct 12

Interesting lines:

Ruzicka moved to wing on Kadri.

Duehr 4th line center

Sharagovich 4th line winger.

Also looks like Gilbert in for Oesterle

News Update

Steinberg put out a new tweet with Sharangovich as 4th line center

Which is weird, he was fine. Should be Dube there.

I like Sharangovich's game - solid defensively and works hard. No idea why he seems to be in Huska's dog house

I thought Kadri - Coronato looked really good

Those changes make sense.

Sharangovich has played center previously and the Kadri line really struggled at five on five. They looked good with Ruzicka in preseason.

Oesterle wasn't good at all last night either.

I'd flip Dube and Sharangovich TBH.

Don’t think he’s in the doghouse. I think they are just trying to find chemistry throughout the lines.

Probably just trying out new combinations to see what works. The team won last night, but not convincingly. If he wants to see Ruzicka up front, someone has to move down. Sharangovich is a versatile player and can play up and down the line-up as required. I doubt it is personal.

People get too hung up on line #s

5 on 5 the Flames will roll the lines with whoever is going getting extra ice. Flames depth is their strength IMO

Bottles the mind. He was the best part of that line last night as the defensive conscience. Ruzicka isn't known for being a super strong defensive player. Not sure why they're doing this other than just to try a few different combinations.

I wouldn't mind seeing that.

I agree that people get too hung up about the line numbers, it's about chemistry, and what works best overall.

They really need a 4th C, like, say... Zary, for example.

I don't know, I think that fourth line is pretty dope.

Love Gilbert in there for Oesterle. Oesterle was our worst player by far last night.

Shaggy is very solid defensively, not a problem if he plays 4th line for a bit.

Ideally speaking he is a little higher in the lineup but Rosie played well and has a really high ceiling.

The number of people whose minds are bottled really boggles my mind.

Not what I would have done... I would have put Coronato with Hubs and Lindholm (just have a feeling that Huberdeau and Coronato will mix well) and kept Bread with Backlund.

Good to put Gilbert in... Osterle looked pretty bad out there.
