It's fun to see they still haven't realized they won't win with mediocre goaltending, terrible d core and an incapable bottom 6.....and analysts seem to think this Oilers team is somehow better than Vegas?
I hope they get thrashed again on Saturday so the fire really gets stoked.

Look, the Cup's not in the building here. It's only Game 1.
But you wonder how a team that gathered for Captain's skates on Sept. 5, went through camp and 8 preseason games, can look like they just met each other in the parking lot before the game?
|
Maybe playing 25 mins a night since September 5th wasn’t the best way to get ready for the regular season.

I don't know, if I had a team captain having an event called The Captain's Skate, I'd really question the ego.
How about a team skate, or a casual get together, or a team building skate.
But nope, The Captain demands that you show up for a Captains skate
then he whines about the Canucks running their top pp late in the game. Pretty rich coming from the king of stats and individual trophies.

Connor wasn’t happy that the backup was put in midway through the third period (even though he didn’t know why), yet he was perfectly happy with the Oilers playing their EBUG last season!
What a whiny little baby! And he’s supposedly the face of the NHL?!

He's got the personality of a 7th grader in gym class, who is crying because the teacher joined the other team half way through ball hockey, causing his team to lose.

Fun fact: McDavid has more Empty Net Points than anyone in the league over the last three years.
But don’t you put PP1 out against them when they’re losing. That’s mean.

The Edmonton media folks add insult to injury with their stupidly framed questions. Every guy there behaves like Francis when he has a bone to pick with someone.
If they have no success, I don't see any world where McDavid isn't packing up his soulless mansion in anticipation of free agency
I don't see why someone with every option under the sun would continue subjecting themselves to that collection of passive agressive manbabies after each loss.

This freaking exactly. Like what other team has run up their top players point totals more by having excessive PP time even when winning and having them out there for the final few minutes if there's an empty net? They even did this in the freaking playoffs when they were up by two goals, which if I recall correctly led to an injury scare with Draisaitl. I can't think of any other team that is doing it more frequently than Edmonton, who are totally focused on getting brat 1 and 2 their points. Seriously - pot meet kettle.
And to run off your mouth when you have no reason why the goalie was pulled is just pure stupidity. Like dude literally barfed in his mask He comes off hilariously bad here.

Also, if your goalie is sick and throwing up, you don't pull him and put the backup in, even if you can't score against either.
Though I do wonder why, if he was that sick, he was playing in the first place.
I am also amused that, despite being down 8-1, they got a 5 on 3 in the final 3 minutes...refs just can't help themselves.

The entitlement that dominates the fabric of that franchise is sickening and quite frankly maddening. MaDavid really does believe that he’s owed something.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease? What happens when the squeaky wheel is The Grease?
In my experience, you light it on fire and let it burn until it shuts the **** up and owns up to the fact that it’s squeaky for one reason only. It’s not doing it’s job.
After that, once the Flames have done their job and silenced all of the annoying, whining, entitled squeaking, you piss on it and put it out of its misery.
True today as the day it was written.

I really hope Vancouver follows it up again on Saturday.
Would get the blood boiling up there and a few jerseys airborne.

If the oilers won 8-1, I would guaran-goddamn-tee there would be no glitches permitted and each goal (all, naturally, involving Pissy and McLeader) would be shown three times.

They had way more important things to highlight last night, like the Leafs new goal song.........
