Lindholm showing his value as the Flames clutch player. Markstrom was great. 5 v 5 play needs work, but take the W and run.

Enjoyable game. Liked the hustle by the Flames. Much faster than last season. No big liabilities in the lineup either. Liked that the Jets got a ton of shots, but most from the outside and were inconsequential. Flames have a little work to do in their own end, but it was a good start. Even better with the grease get worked in Vancouver.

What a depressing start to another long, long season.
First, some clarification:
True to form, Markstrom DID give up a goal on the first shot against. The Jets were just practising on those other 11.
Mangiapane DID NOT score the first goal. He's washed up and useless.
The second goal was apparently scored by a Uighur. I happen to know that Uighurs don't play hockey, and if they did, they wouldn't have a team in the NHL. Never happened.
Fatmus Sandwichsson never shoots the puck. Third goal never happened.
Elias Lindholm is pouting to force a trade. Doesn't want to be here. Never scored.
And since the Flames were down 3-0 in the last minute, obviously the Jets weren't such fools as to pull their goalie. You honestly think Huberdeau and Mangiapane combined for a goal? You silly sod. That was clearly a practical joke.
So they lost their first game by an easy shutout. Fire Markstrom and fold the franchise.
