You fire Marc Savard if he continues to go with Mr. No-Shoot Pass-Only on the point.
I actually looked into the numbers and Andersson had the 15th most points among Defensemen on the PP last year with 21PPP. He only scored 1 goal on the PP though.
That said, only 24 D in the entire NHL scored more than 3PPGs.
Andersson shot the puck 159 times on the PP. This is similar to Fox(159), Letang(161), Doughty(145), H. Lindholm(158) etc.

JMak will drag his name through the mud (like he does/did with Gio) for all eternity.
lol. I don't bring up Giold anymore. Only you guys do.
But i guess you didn't watch any Flames games last year then. How many points did we lose because we got a late PP in the 3rd and couldn't score to tie it up or take a lead? 18-20 games?

I’m not on the coaching staff but maybe Sec214 can inform someone that it’s 5 games or else.
Thought Conroy's closing comments were interesting re: his involvement with the coaches and the line up choices.
Thought it was super interesting that he said Treliving was very much down there and wanted to be involved in line up decisions, where as Burke's philosophy was you hired the coach to do that, stay out of it. Conny said he's going to take more of the Burke approach.
I know many are trying to forget him, but ..
That was classic Jay Feaster. “Managers manage, coaches coach.”

Just found that interesting re: the tension with Tre and Daryl. A lot of talk about Sutter maybe playing games with the line up to force roster moves from the GM, and just one data point, but also sounds like Tre might not have been helping much in that department if he was trying to get into Daryl's kitchen a bunch. Not sure you go out and hire a super tenured coach (especially Daryl) and expect things are going to go well if you want daily input into the line up. BTW - maybe reading too much into it, but the way Conny said it, seemed like it was more of a consistent stylistic thing for Tre, vs. he started doing it with Daryl at the end because he wasn't like player usage type of thing.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
* although taking 8 million to stay home is maybe not so stupid. I’d sure take 8 million and find ways to fill my time
I love that they're practicing the PP. Hopefully they'll practice 3 on 3 as well. We left a lot of points on the table last year due to how pathetic we were in OT.

I’ll say it again. Especially since Sutter said it’s a 3-2 league, and played for that type of outcome, I’m mystified that he didn’t anticipate overtime happening enough to make it worth practising
