Tough one for a rookie GM. Make the easy move that screws the team's future, or the right move.

That can be read either way, depending on which way you lean. Which is the right move for you?

Conroy has time available to him, I hope he uses it.

I doubt the Flames would be happy trading him for futures at the trade deadline.

Is this a crazy proposal?
To Rangers: Dube+Ruzicka
To Flames: Lafreniere+Bonino
I haven’t looked into it but have read headlines of a poor camp for Laf so the stock is low. Flames would take a flyer on a former 1st pick and hope he follows the likes of Turris, Strome, Bennett and perform much better in his second stop. They also address the 4th line C with a veteran.
Rangers get 2 players with promise. Dube has speed, Ruzicka is a big body and if both fulfill their potential they will be nice middle 6 players. Dube at worst is a decent third liner right now

yes. Dube right now is already a better and more proven player than Laf. JFresh put out a player card comparing Laf and Yakapov..and their analytics after 3years is basically the same.

I’m not a big fan of Laf, he’s not a good skater and I wonder about his brain and GAF. The thing he has going for him is that he’s still only 21, and he’s improving every year (although he was useless last year in the playoffs). I don’t think he’ll live up to his Draft position, but there still could be a player there. 39 points for a 21 year old is pretty good. I would still be tempted to take Kakko first.

Even at PPG who is beating 8.5-9x8?
I am on team wait unless he will sign 8x8 tomorrow

Why’d he sign for less than Horvat?

He might sign elsewhere for less money.

I think Lindholm is going to get significantly more with the Flames than any other team, even if they are able to offer the 8th year. Like 8 million more in total or something similar. So it really is not going to be about money whether he signs or not.

Ya, maybe they'll need a guy like Lindholm...

I'd be comfortable seeing him center a 4th line as well, I think he could really contribute with some of the younger guys i.e. Duehr, Ruzicka... Zary?
