Sometimes I wonder about tennis commentary - Gushing about Sinner's performance today when he had double the amount of unforced errors compared to winners. I mean, Jannik was definitely deserving of the win, but he didn't really have to anything special today with Charlie spraying the ball all over the court.
Surprisingly poor result by Alcaraz who had been looking good in this tournament. I think the media has been pumping Sinner's tires for a while now in hopes that he can rise to create another big 2/3 scenario. I still think Rune may have higher upside than Sinner but it's hard to predict these things as who would have thought that Felix would have a 2023 match record of 15/17 after the fall he had last season?
Meanwhile in Astana, Adrian Mannarino comes back from a set and a break down to defeat Sebi Korda in the final. At the age of 35, Mannarino is the highest ranked Frenchman on the ATP tour.

He's had a pretty good 2023 for a relatively unheralded 35 year old player.

Jannik Sinner gets his first win over Meddy in his 7th try and wins the 9th title of his career. Pretty good match from both, as you can see from the stats, Jannik was just a little better on the day.

I'm not surprised Felix lost to Marton. He's essentially been playing like a player closer to 100 in ranking than top 20 since Miami. Personally I believe this is more than just injury going on here. He should possibly start looking at a different voice in his coaching circle before things start to snowball into next year.
On this Thanksgiving weekend, let's give thanks that we've had the pleasure of watching Rafa all these years. Here's hoping we will see him again in 2024.

Its pretty clear that tennis isn't the same without him. Here's hoping he plays Carlos in the French Open final and we get a match up for the ages ...... with Rafa winning of course
