Manitoba NDPs leading. Liberals are just non-existant at provincial level now. Could this be the case eventually at federal level?

I was going to ask. With everything that's going on, why, why, WHY would they put a guy in that spot who was found guilty of ethics violation?! Do they not consider optics at all in their decisions?

I’m assuming they figured the optics of Fergus being a Black Canadian will have more of an impact electorally than the optics of him being guilty of ethics violations. That would be pretty on-brand for the Liberals.

Honestly don't even care if he is NDP or Liberal, but glad to see that divisive and incompetent people like everyone running the Manitoba PC Party are thrown out.

To be fair to Trudeau this is an issue that's plagued the party dating back decades as it's their deep rooted party issue much like the CP's deep rooted and outdated religious issues. He's just kicked things up a notch over his terms.

I don't think Trudeau has any more or more serious ethics issues than previous PMs, Premiers or opposition leaders. IMO the difference is that his issues seem to stem from political strategies (eg SNC and trying to create a job outcome to win votes) versus cronyism and grift (eg Ford and the Greenbelt) or fanaticism (Smith and her prosecution interference).

I sincerely mean that, I hope that provinces does well. I haven’t followed any of their provincial politics in the past, and probably won’t follow closely now.
