I've been a supporter of yours since the early days when some people here were a little mean spirited and overly critical towards you so I feel this is coming from a good place. Fans don't like the "I told you so" stuff as it's very Eric Francis/Dowbiggin so I would recommend treading lightly on topics like this. If the guy does nothing this season and ends up in the AHL we certainly don't want a thread dedicated to kicking him while he's down so I don't see the point of pumping his tires before the regular season even begins.

Often the people who don't like the "I told you so" stuff were the most mean spirited and overly critical of those posters to begin with.
Instead of getting mad, people should try to use it as an opportunity for reflection and growth.
Maybe if people weren't such #######s, they wouldn't feel the need to bring it up again? Maybe just don't be an #######?

Meh I feel like there's been enough "told you so" on both sides at this point. I think it's perfectly fair game to post a lineup where he's playing with Ovechkin and Backstrom. That's pretty notable.
(Ironically, this discussion about what's keeping the thread going is, in fact, what's keeping this thread going)

What's amazing to me is that this thread is far outpacing any Coronato discussion. That's just crazy to me.

No kidding, I can't be the only one who has been checking in on how his pre season is looking.

I think Coronato and Phillips should have a fight at centre ice to prove which Matt I'm supposed to care about more.

Coronato's time will come for him to have a huge thread devoted to him playing for the Washington Capitals when he refuses to re-sign with the team because he is American and only wants to play in the USA.

Wow this thread has become stupid. If you don't like the Phillips content, avoid the Phillips thread. It'd not rocket science.

Over under on undersized Matthew Coronto vs undersized Matthew Phillips this year? I find it interesting how Coronto is lauded despite his size and Phillips is "meh, won't amount to anything" because of his size. I mean we are the organization where Theoren Fleury, Martin St. Louis, and Johnny Gaudreau all started? T.T

I'm not angry and I don't know if you're misreading me. I am just saying that more onus should be placed on the original agitators than somebody like Scorpion who is absolutely not looking for conflict but has more nuanced opinions.

Coronato is big compared to Phillips. I bet Phillips would be the smallest regular in the league's history if he makes it.

Phillips is listed at 5'8", 160 ... Nathan Gerbe was listed at 5'4", 176. Definitely not the smallest in league history.
