The ALCS would probably be the soonest we can hope for normal start times if they make it that far. They would probably make the Baltimore vs Tampa/Texas series the primetime start because it's two American teams.

Yeah! Fans who want to watch shouldn't be able to because we want corporate interests (possibly? doubtful?) maximized! Like are you even able to watch at 2:30 this week?
|
Not only will I be watching, but I'll enjoy it more, as - apparently - I'll be the only person doing so. It'll be glorious!

I think I remember the Bat flip game being a 230 or 330pm MT start as well. I remember being drunk as a sailor by suppor time.

4:07 p.m. ET., which was 2 p.m. for me in Vancouver. Like I mentioned earlier in the thread I was in a meeting when things got crazy with fans throwing garbage on the field. But I got back in time to see the batflip.

Jays played ALCS games in 1985 in the afternoon.
The WC this year Texas and TB don't have any better times, it's just get games over ASAP.
For later rounds, with the Jays not having a US TV following or measurable ratings, they are always going to get short end of the stick for times...but those times are not new for baseball or Toronto.

Thankfully I'll only need to be at work for the first hour. I don't like my job but in this case only having to work until 4:30 CT is nice.

I've been saving my lieu time for the baseball playoffs so I'll be watching. I'm geared up for some sweet, sweet day drinking. So my apologies in advance for my overly emotional, irrational posts. It's going to be a blast lol. And the setting at a full Target field is going to be measurably different than if they were playing the Rays at the Trop. So the atmosphere is going to be great.

You never do in the playoffs. Usually you have a 3 man rotation, and at most you get 4. Never 5. Ever.
Actually, I think I'd like to see every series be 3 games. Let it resemble a regular season series as much as possible. Every team is trained to just win a series again and again, and so it's the best representation of what baseball looks like.
Maybe I could get on board with a 5 game World Series, but that's about it. Shorter playoffs. It's ridiculous how long every post-season is these days. It's a minimum of a month to two months. It's nuts.

The Rays should have to play all road games until their new stadium is built.

It’s wild that there are tickets still available for this game as cheap as $8 a pop.
I hope Bluejays fans flock down there and fill that place up

Less teams in the playoffs, not more. 4 teams from each league. Keep the division series as best of 5, CS and WS go 7 games.

There are sets of 4 behind home plate at $70/ticket. Of course, you'd need to be able to take a few days off work...which is probably why they're so cheap to begin with. People don't want to take the time off.
I happen to be in Philadelphia, and similar tickets for the first game here are $300+/ticket. I'm leaving tomorrow so couldnt go if I wanted to,but wouldn't be likely to pay that anyway. Especially for a series I wouldn't be invested in.
At those prices though I'd fly to Minnesota if it was on a weekend...

Yeah, that’s right. I’m so used to always converting it by two hours being from Manitoba that it’s just habit.

The Jays made the playoffs despite losing almost 7 wins above replacement from last season between Manoah and Guerrero.

I hope to be off the golf course by the start of game 1. Should be an exciting series.
