Wow you heathen. How could you dare propose something like that? Do you KNOW how hard riggers work? Do you KNOW their struggles of living paycheck to paycheck on a $5000/week salary? How DARE you??

Jealousy doesn’t look good on you. Ask yourself if you could even do that job.

I don't quite understand how fees paid by the government are related to wages paid by private companies to their employees, but regardless, there's a less than zero chance I'd be willing to do that job, so there's that...

Become a pharmacist and actively work towards the New World Order and 15min Cities by participating in and promoting untested and unverified vaccinations to the masses.
Vs
Become a O&G Rigger and be part of the lifeline of this great province, drive a truck (with balls), and contribute to the only viable political party that has steered this province correctly for 40+ years.
The choice are tough I tell you!

Don't forget to take your ivermectin with herbal tea, in lukewarm bathwater outside in a BPA-free water barrel under a harvest moon!

Lol I wish O&G wages were anything to write home about these days.
The average O&G tradesperson wage has stayed pretty well stagnant since I got my ticket in 2011.
Really good wage in 2011 for sure, same wage in 2023 and less hourly than my neighbor who works as an administrator for the provincial government, not so much.

If it makes you feel better a lot of people in other industries are in the same boat. Heck in the 5 years since the minimum wage went to $15/hour those workers haven’t seen an increase either. Imagine how much more difficult inflation has been for them to deal with than for people earning $100k-$200k.

It doesn't. The wage stagnation has been brutal over the past decade for most people. Especially among the record profits and mass concentration of wealth. Then you tack on record public deficits and the huge cost of living increases. It took us what - 40? 50? Years to transition to mostly dual income households to have the same standard living as a single income. Seems like an unsustainable trend to me.

I'm sure the wealth will trickle down, just need to accumulate a bit more at the top.

Ah yes, trickle down economics... what Dear Leader Kenney told Albertans to look forward to when cutting taxes for O+G companies as the UCP's first order of business in 2019. Just ignore the debt repayments, dividend payouts, automation expenses, etc. The money will trickle into the hands of the workers. If it hasn't yet, it definitely will, any day now.

To be fair we've been getting $18 in BC and some provinces are as low as $11. Alberta has been the highest in the country by a fair bit until now.

Which makes sense when you look at demand for housing. The costs just all got sucked in as people continue to max out borrowing capacity to buy property. A good portion of the extra dual income just got sucked into real estate.

At what point would pharmacists decline to provide the service?
