I am obviously not a fan of Maier but Stevens doesn't get a chance because he can't throw the ball. He is here 100% to be a short yardage player, which isn't a problem but then the 3rd guy should be someone who can play. That is where we went wrong.
Also I think we talked about it earlier in the thread when it comes to the Cup while it shouldn't have come down to individual errors hard to blame DD for the moronic Jordan fumble and BLM playing the worst game of his life for 3 quarters against Ottawa.

I'm not a Stampeders fan so I'm not going to get to into the weeds on this, what I will say is that a lot of people here are mistaken huffs football IQ and scouting and team building and misattributing that to Dave. Dave isn't wally, Huff is the Wally on this team right now.

Dave may not be Wally but he is a hell of a lot better than some here are saying.
Not being at the level of two of the greatest coaches of all time certainly doesn't make him ####, doesn't mean he should be fired.
He is an above average coach struggling to win without a QB like all coaches int he CFL do.

Bombers pop out of the bottom of the toilet for a few years of relevancy and their fans start talking smack.
Huff and Dave will get this fixed.

Yeah take yesterdays game as an example...did DD call a bad game (even tho he isnt OC anymore) or was it MUCH more on Maier having brain cramps at the worst time possible? I mean the teams were virtually tied as far as offensive production goes except on the score board.
One big difference though?
You lose the turnover game like the Stamps did, you are going to lose games75% of the time. And fumbles and bad throws/decisions are almost always on the players.
Now when you can look towards coaching as a contributor, its when the QB isnt getting the time to throw because of poor protection, and thats a legit beef with this team.
I dont think its a coincidence that the Oline coach and the OC are the same guy, and thats what we have in Pat Delmonaco.

And it's nice to see that you're taking a rare losing season in stride.
Edit: also you don't know what snack talk is. Stop being a diva and trying to be a victim.

How many calls were there for Mike O'Shea to be fired by Bombers fans when Matt Nichols was their starting QB? The only reason O'Shea still has a job is that Wade Miller took a chance on Zach Collaros and obviously that gamble paid off big time.
I'm pretty confident that both DD and Huf realize that a change needs to be made at the QB position, it's going to be tough to make that change given the contract they have given to Jake, though. Is Tommy Stevens going to be the future Stamps QB? What about Logan Bonner? I have to think Huf and DD are actively searching for another diamond in the rough, but I also think DD is safe as head coach. Coming into this season, Dave's coaching record was 73-29-2.

But he's only made it to the Grey Cup in half of his coached seasons.

Matt Nichols actually saved MOS' job. He came in and won vs Edmonton and that was the start of the turn around for the franchise.
Huff is the best recruiter and football mind working in the CFL today. I have no doubt that half the people here could be successful as a coach with Huff as your boss

There isn't a coach in the league now or in the past that is having success with Maier as the QB.

Not sure how you can watch that game and say it’s not the QB.
He threw a pick to a lineman like he was setting up a screen pass embarrassing stuff.

The Calgary Stampeders have signed five players to their expanded practice roster, including defensive linemen Will Choloh and Toby Ndukwe, linebacker Adarius Taylor, and defensive backs Clifford Chattman and Tyler Richardson.

Taylor a long time NFLer.

Drew Brees was the back up for the Chargers.

They did a similar photo op in preseason 2002 at Candlestick in San Francisco I was in attendance for. Drew Brees there too, basically all the good QBs in my life the past 30 years not named Bo were in the building. 🥲

Playoffs are still a longshot, but a Stamps win today versus the Ti-Cats would certainly help. If they run the table (including a win versus the Riders on October 13th), they would punch their ticket.
