Well let me ask you a question: what would've happened if his deal was up before this season? What will happen next summer if he still hasn't stepped on the ice?
If he was released to be a UFA, and there was no proper explanation from Conroy, would that be a-ok?

It would not be “without explanation”. It would be “for personal reasons we are not at liberty to disclose “. And yes, that’s fine.

I'm sick of the smoke and mirrors and carefully worded PR nonsense, enough already. What is the problem with this guy?
If you work in an office and the person sitting next to you has not come in for a year but is still being paid, would you not ask questions about that?

Kylington already addressed it himself. He is battling mental health issues and there isn’t much left to explain. It’s pretty clear from the presser that doctors did not think it was a good idea for him to play.
Are you expecting them to release his exact diagnosis and treatment plan?

I must have missed this. Where did he disclose this?

What's the deal?
We don't need details but it would be nice to get a timeline, or an LTIR move if he's not coming in any time soon.
The perpetual question mark around his current/future role on this team is the frustrating and puzzling thing for fans.

Why are you frustrated. He's not available. Get over it.

LTIR doesn’t matter unless the Flames need to go over the cap and it’s better to not use it until you have to. I do wonder if they toll his contract this year though.

There is never a timeline for mental health issues.

No…”the truth must not come out”. That is a privacy issue; should your own health records be available for public consumption?
One could only hope that at some point during his recovery, he may feel comfortable enough to inspire others suffering similarly, but that’s up to him. This is his challenge to face, his priority should be his own welfare, not to appease others.

Can they? Isn’t he effectively considered “injured”?
I am really unsure.
They didn’t toll his contract last year.

I think that’s cause they thought he was coming back. I’m not really sure what the mechanics are but the Blue Jackets tolled Texier’s contract.

This year however, I could easily see the Flames trying to acquire another defenseman. Without Kylington, they are left without much depth.
Especially if an injury occurs
I would not be surprised to see player moved to LTIR,
Flames in parallel acquire a dman

I've already addressed this. I am not a famous multimillionaire, no one would care to know about my health.

It’s not that Kylington can’t be put on LTIR. They don’t need to put him there. There’s no benefit unless they hit the cap.

True, however they could easily hit the cap, as they are technically over the cap currently.
They will be very close to the cap when the roster is announced

Exactly! Everyone knows the well established timelines for mental health issues to recover your brain bones and ligaments:
Mild depression: 4-6 weeks
Suicidal thoughts: more like a 2-3 month thing.
Generalized anxiety disorder: we're lookin' at 6-8 months, but need to wear a brain brace after.

Well yes, that's what I said above. My guess he is placed on LTIR,
In parallel Flames bring in a defenseman.
