We could put Vladar on Waivers and Tampa is not claiming him. Good luck getting a pick. Vaz likely misses 15-20 games? Why pick up a $2.2 mil goalie for 15 games when you have cap issues and one of the best goalies in the league?
Only trade I could see would be Sheary for Vladar.

I doubt the Flames trade Vladar this season unless it’s for a massive overpay

I wonder if we get some good Flames nuggets today. Serivalli is in studio with the morning show right away here and also in studio with the Barnburner crew and I assume Flames Talk as well.

I don't get the feeling he has a lot of connections to the team here.
Any info he gets on Calgary probably comes from agents.

He’ll have stuff. He interviewed Huska, Conroy, Huberdeau and Backlund yesterday.

One of the things I was hoping for the year was seeing the young guys play. Now with Pelletier out and looks like Wolf goes back to AHL, so much for that fun.

Friedman on 32 Thoughts this morning says Lindholm & the Flames are apart on the number. "Team hasn't said this, agent has said this, but the number could be higher (than $8.75 or $9M)"

Unless someone overpays for Vladar with the injuries for other teams line. I'm sure the likes of Colorado and Tampa have inquired about cost.

Fan960 morning crew were discussing this with Frank this morning. Paraphrasing, but they asked Frank "is the number 10 (million)" and Frank said the Flames don't want to go there.
It certainly feels like Lindholm wants $10 given how his interviews have gone.

Not looking great for a Lindholm extension which means things could get very interesting as the season progresses.

Coronato?
Duehr?
Potentially Zary?

I wouldn't be too sure about Wolf either. Conroy saying all the expected things about waivers and Vladar and how they're in a good spot but I'm pretty sure they want Wolf on the Flames and are looking to move Vladar.

I wasn’t able to catch all of Frank but I did hear discussion around Vladar’s value around the league. He disagreed with the notion that he would fetch a 4th round pick and that Vladar is seen around the league as a potential starter and his value is higher than many fans in this market think.

Duehr is almost 26 so not sure he qualifies as “youth”
Coronato is a lock and I think Zary is really going to push for a spot. Pelletier will be back at some point I assume this season and I also suspect we will see Wolf during the year.
I agree youth will be served this year.

Maybe this is way to simple of a thought. But I wonder, much to the fans disappointment, if we kind of need to accept that we might be simply at the beginning of the negotiations with Lindholm, not closer to the end. And maybe the $10M number is more like the players first (and too high) offer, not his final offer as I think many of us feel like it would be.
Where I'm going, is we all are sort of assuming that if he was willing to come back, it was about does he want to be here, but the money thing was mostly sorted. We've also heard there wasn't much talk in the offseason. Perhaps the flow on this one is, no one really got serious about money and the other details of the contract until Lindholm had even made up his mind on if he'd consider staying, and that wasn't going to happen until he got to camp, and started to get a feel for the new culture and team direction.
Maybe now he has, both he and the Flames can start to seriously talk about contract details. Maybe now for the first time since end of last year, he's signaled I might be willing to stay, and really the negotiations then are just begining?
Not sure if that makes sense, but I think it's a real possibility. 0 point negotiating the price on a car if you are not even sure you want to buy that type of car in the first place type of thing. Once you've decided you'd buy it, you start working on price.

Read a tweet yesterday from a Dr. Saying a surgery like Pelletiers takes 4 to 6 months recovery time. I wouldn't pencil in Pelletier at all this year. Get that mindset dialed in and if he does manage to make a return this year, found money.

How is Duehr young anymore?
I was looking forward to seeing Coronato, Wolf and Pelletier and now two of them are not going to be even playing. I'm not that high on Zary although he probably gets a shot now with Pelletier out.
