Maybe they can nickname the new arena the "Snowball".

I suggested in the Heritage Classic thread that the jerseys should have a Snow tribute. They could donate some jersey sale proceeds.

I suggest you look up what a snowball is. There are likely many people who are into it, but I am not sure you'd want to name your arena with a reference to snowballing.

As others have mentioned, I hope the Flames organization supports the Snow family through this difficult time and not just with words.

I’m sure Conroy will make sure of it. From Eric Duhatschek’s article in the Athletic today:
https://theathletic.com/4909175/2023...shared_article
Quote:
Conroy and his wife, Jessie, by the way, played enormous roles in the Snow family’s lives over the past few years. Professionally, Craig and Chris were AGMs together. But their connection went far beyond the workplace. The Conroys were always available whenever the Snow family needed help with their two children, Willa and Cohen. If Kelsie needed a babysitter, or Cohen needed a ride to a hockey practice, the Conroys stepped up. As did many others in their wide circle of friends. When Conroy was promoted to the general manager’s chair, Chris was promoted as well and given a wider range of responsibilities. This past Wednesday, after Chris was hospitalized, Conroy brought Cohen Snow to a Flames press conference to name Mikael Backlund captain and announce his new contract. Cohen stood in for his dad. Up until then though, Chris shouldered a regular workload.

Flames will do this right. No question in my mind.
You can second guess many aspects of the Flames, but this isn't one of them. Flames are top notch in this regard.

I like the idea of naming part of the dome and the new arena after him.
Hope they do it.

I've never been a stickler for raising banners to the rafters, but if the Oilers can raise one for Country Music ticket sales, raise one for Snow.

Call it the SnowDome
That way there's still a dome in yyc, and it's fitting given what it will look like for 7-8 months of the year.

There's got to be an addition or a section we can make in the new arena, and call it the SnowGlobe. Make a % of proceeds from whatever sells there donated towards ALS.
Or do something in the current arena. If we can add an automated checkout, we can add a SnowGlobe.

All I can get
|
A Moment of Silence at the game tomorrow, then something incorporated into the season home opener.
A medical research endowment at a university, either here or in his home state of Massachusetts.
That'll be probably be the extent of it.

Absolutely heartbreaking to hear this. Why do we always lose the good ones early? Kelsie seems so strong. I have no more words.
