I didn't see those for long. I assume either there were issues with those systems and/or excessive costs due to vandalism or liabilities due to people installing card swipers skimmers over them?

I’ve had the same $300 in my wallet for months. Do you guys go get cash often?

Goddamn, it seems no one has any ability to detect social cues in a conversation. It seems 80% of people cannot detect that when they talk for 4 minutes straight, it is very uncomfortable to the other party and actually painful. Just STFU. You are just yabbering your thoughts, just have an ounce of give a crap to whoever you are blabbing at. Fataing Netflix has more social grace..."Are you still watching".

I have a friend of a friend who I completely banned from any and all social gatherings or gettogethers. I once got stuck listening to him talk about moving a rock in his backyard, for 20 mins straight. I was f'ing insane.

Its the natural progression as society distances itself from continuous social contact.
Work from home, Teams meetings, everything is done over the phone, email or preferably by text.
We dont interact personally nearly as much, so it stands to reason that the skills involved in those interactions are going to atrophy.

I keep a $20 in my wallet, 'just in case'. I need to replace it every other month or so, generally.

If I didn't have two teenage boys cash would probably never leave my wallet as well.

I know the type you are talking about. I have usually chalked it up to something dysfunctional in their life.
Also it seems that a lot of the young people, particularly in movies, seem to be talking much too fast. It may be from listening to some of the other languages around these days, where the words come out of their mouth like bullets from a machine gun.

I always do, especially after getting a ticket for that a couple years ago. Felt a bit much, as she had already fully crossed over my side, the grassy meridian, and was halfway across the opposite side of traffic going the other direction when I went. But it's definitely stayed in my head ever since.
Anyone else ever been ticketed for that? Judging by the amount of impatient people behind me at crosswalks now when I wait for them to fully cross, I take it most haven't been ticketed for this before..

Are you with RBC? I have the MyDoh app through RBC and it totally rules. Can send my kids money as needed and they just pay with their phone or their MyDoh card. It's fantastic. It's even handy if they're out and about and you need them to pick something up for you - just shoot them some money in, like, two seconds. It's the best.

I haven't withdrawn cash in years. My cash supply builds up gradually over winter as I'm the beer guy on our hockey team and that's how the guys pay. I didn't play this summer so my supply gradually dwindled to zero a few weeks ago. Almost had to withdraw some more but hockey has started again for the winter and I'm collecting slowly again.

I still use apple pay, or pay for everything on a credit card, but I always carry $300 in my wallet. At least once a year it comes in handy when interac is down, or the internet isn't working...etc.

Thank goodness; the more these types of social expectations erode, the more normal I must seem...

No, but as Torquedog helpfully established last page, that may be because it's not actually an offense and the cop that gave you the ticket was wrong. Could've fought it and won.

I did fight it, I always do. Well not fully fight it, just look for a reduction. He hit me with 3 different ticky-tack offences (I forget the 3rd one, but another was "distracted driving" because I had my phone running Google maps on my lap...dude must've been having a day), but "threw out" the other two, but still mentioned them on the ticket.
Prosecutor told me she couldn't reduce it because it would look bad for the officer as he already "did me a favour" with the other 2, so she stuck me with the full offence value of the crosswalk violation. I was so bitter, first time I've ever not gotten a reduction. I wait until pedestrians are on the opposing sidewalk ever since, I'm not going through that crap again.

The bottle depot has been my ATM for years now, and most of it’s still in my wallet.

Trying to clean up grated cheese that is on a counter top. Can’t pick it up each individual piece and you can’t wipe it up because it rolls and smears…. #### everything about it.

You know you’re getting old and lame when one of your favourite bands is playing down the street but you can’t justify the cost of a ticket anymore. Not that many years ago we would’ve torn out of work earlier and made a mad dash to the coast to crash in some sleazy motel to catch them playing.
And now, despite working full time for ever and being an Uber away? No, gotta be boring as #### and keep that money for ‘food’ or ‘school’ or some ####. So lame

I went to the funeral of my best friend yesterday.
I'm sad and gears are ground.
