Ive lost 2 family members to this heinous disease.

Honestly its unfair for any human to have to endure and equally bad for family.

I encourage everyone to visit their site and if you can kick in 20 for research, please do so.

When I was a kid, the lady who lived next door was a close friend of my mother's; Lorrie was her name. They stayed in touch after she moved out of the neighbourhood, and continued to be friends until Lorrie died of ALS many years later. It was heart-wrenching for her family and everyone who knew them.

I still remember the last time I heard Lorrie's voice on the phone. She was losing control of her vocal cords and could only talk in a kind of hoarse gargle. Still the same person inside, still brave and living life the best she could, but I could tell she knew the end was near. I respect her memory for the way she faced it.

Chris Snow has made it a lot longer than Lorrie ever did, thanks to new treatments and an incredible will to fight. I know his fight will help others go farther still, and one day, God willing, this terrible disease will finally be beaten. I salute him and all the Snow family.

Thank you, Chris.

#### I was looking through Kelsie Snow’s Twitter posts. That is absolutely heart breaking to see life taken away like that. What a strong family. I don’t know what to say. Just breaks my heart.

The biggest concern I would have for this family is familial ALS means that his children witnessed what happened to their father and they have a high chance of inheriting the risk factors for this as well. The science seems to be quite far from a cure as this is a complex genetic wasting disease.

My Uncle is 1.5 years in (March 2022) and scheduled to go via the MAID route first late August, then September 15th, then re-decided and is now looking into a computer device to help him interact (my auntie currently does like 95% of translating his mumbled sentences).

Just crushing.

Prayers to the Snow family.

Treliving is flying in to be with the Snow family. Good on him.

Terrible sad news about Chris. Such a strong, loving and courageous family. Much love to the Snow's.

Yeah Tre is certainly one of the biggest fans of Chris, so i am sure he needs to see Kelsey and the kids in person.

Utterly gutting news. There’s been no better ambassador of the organization than Snowy and his family. I don't even have words.

It’s nice to know that Chris and his family are well supported in the hockey community. Class act by Tre and always admired how much dedication and compassion he showed towards the Snow’s. Must be comforting for his family to see fist hand just how much of an impact Chris had on the lives of others.

Did he make a public statement or is it just behind the scenes knowledge?

I did check the Leafs PR page earlier today to see if he said anything. I know they were close.

Edit- I see that Sportsnet reported this.

I pray that the gene does not get passed down to his children. I think it's only like 10% risk. Nobody should have to go through this.

Not surprised, the guy is a total class act. Made me think of Gulutzan and McLellan going to Humboldt. Lots of good people involved in hockey.
