If I have a bad boss and there was another company waiting to pay me more money potentially then I would probably do that.
Why re-sign if you know the boss you don't like is still there to make you miserable and you know there are other things on the table.

Sec214 - no where to be found when there is actual Flames news.
As for Backlund, not a huge fan of the deal or him being captain. However, I can see why it makes sense for now with the team not rebuilding.

Backlund has been here for 15 years. He obviously loves Calgary, he was just frustrated after a #### season and the person who was largely responsible for that #### season is gone now.
