Will always be one of my favorite Flames - the first jersey I ever got with a player crested on the back.
Think giving him the C is the right move too, that is the guy the locker room wants to be their captain.

TBH might actually be the opposite.
At this point Chris has not passed away yet and really there is probably not going to be a good time to announce things over the next week or so depending on how things go with Chris.

I will never doubt Rasta again! (didn't doubt them, just didn't know they had a tight source)
Anyway, this is a fantastic contract! Two years is ideal, and $4.5M is - currently, at least - a steal for him. Obviously, things can go downhill quickly for players at his age, but based on his fitness, low mileage, and cerebral play, I doubt his game deteriorates much. In fact, I'll predict right now that he signs another deal after this one.

Same with defence. Our defencemen will not be as expensive as they have been recently, even if they resign Hanafin. I think two of Hanafin, Zadorov, and Tanev are gone at the end of the year and replaced with younger players.
