Bob is gone thankfully he's in Philly now.

Jim Montgomery was an alcohol abuse issue no? Not great but it's nothing compared to being a racist.

I think the only reason I remember that is because I saw him once in the Calgary Tower with what I assume were his parents.

Constantine did ok in his last NHL stop with the Devils and at the time he was still quite young (early-to-mid-40s). I always wondered why he couldn't find an NHL job after that but I think it was because of some of this weird stuff going on behind the scenes.

The most interesting thing to me about all this is why would the Wenatchee owners not keep James Patrick? The guy had a 57-10-5 record and took the team to the finals last year. You're going to get rid of him for this guy?

Yeah Montgomery gets a lot of credit for turning his life around after getting fired by the Stars in 2019. He talks about it being a wake up call. Of course I’m sure that’s what he was telling his employers after his arrest for drunk driving in 2008.

He’s lucky he hasn’t killed anyone and even luckier that he continues to get multiple second chances. I hope he deserves them.

Proving once again it’s who you know and not always what you know that counts, Patrick found himself out of work, despite guiding the Ice to the WHL’s best record the last two seasons.

He says he wasn’t surprised nor disappointed, understanding people who run the team will want to hire their own people.

But he was caught by surprse and might not have gone anyway

But Patrick wasn’t ready, which speaks volumes about how stunned he was the Ice melted in Canada’s coldest capital city.

“I wasn’t ready to go somewhere right away,” he said. “Mentally, I couldn’t jump in. A week after the Winnipeg Ice were sold, I couldn’t say now I’m the coach of another team. Yes, I still had the coaching bug and the itch. But if you’re not 100% in… you’re doing a disservice to yourself, the organization and the players.

“That’s where I was one week, two weeks, three weeks after the team was sold.”

He ended up moving to Victoria to work with the team there (in a player development role) so you'd think he would have probably been open to it if they did offer.

That made me laugh out loud. SIRI give me the most benign, white friendly, not country and not rock performer to try to impress my 50's coach who is whiter than liquid paper, so white that's he's translucent.
