I'll miss Loubo, but I get the feeling Meaghan Mikkelson's colour commentary is going to be a blast.

100% agree. Her posts already are superb. Love the insight. Giving different perspective than usual analysis.

Really happy with the Mikkelson hire (though I didn't want to lose Loubo)

He had what? 3 points in 3 games? (which ted for the team lead) Are you defining that as 'hands didn't work'?

His hands worked fine. He even scored a goal. If you expected him to come and be Connor Bedard your expectations were to high. Let's see what he does in main camp.

It's also the start of camp. People have some unreal expectations in September.

Yes he had issues handling the puck. Thats fine he put up 3 points but honestly if he was that ready it should of been more.

To start:

Huberdeau - Lindholm - Sharangovich
Ruzicka - Kadri - Dube
Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman
Pelletier - Rooney - Duehr
Klapka

Hanifin - Andersson
Zadorov - Weegar
Oesterle - Tanev
Gilbert

Markstrom
Vladar
I’d flip coronato in for Rooney and I think I agree with your guesstimate on the lineup.

If you read the full context of her tweet, she's excited about it. It's a good thing.

Little harsh for what adds up to a rust shaking off exercise isn't it?

Nobody's expecting Bedard or Fantilli levels of production in a prospect tournament. He was more than fine for what that tournament was.

Bump up Mangiapane to L2 LW, swap Coleman over to Backs LW, Slap Coronato to Backs hip, put Roz betwixt Dueher and Pelts. Rubiks cube solved.

Love it!

Now do it with Tetris metaphors, for those of us who lost our Rubik's Cube in a move decades ago.

I doubt they are changing the Backlund line unless Backlund is traded

Well, Mangiapane did well with Kadri also before the shoulder fell out of socket and things just went off the rails. If Coronato makes the team there literally nowhere else you can staple him to none other than the player development man himself Mikael Backlund. All of Monahan (IIRC) Tkachuk, Gaudreau and Mang made their names on his flanks.

EDIT: And I cannot imagine a more balanced line up honestly.

Mang-Kadri-Dube
Coleman-Backs-Coronato

Not only does that Shelter Coronato a fair bit it gives him strong line mates to learn the ropes over a season.

I think keeping that Mangiapane Backlund Coleman trio is important especially when we are building 3 new lines.

They will have to build chemistry and that trio has shown they can control the game. For a brand new coach early in the year that's probably important.

Link to the whole podcast, in case you prefer to listen to it somewhere other than apple podcasts.

Playing Coronato with Backlund isn't sheltering. They play, by far, the toughest competition and hardest zone starts on the team.

That line would be a meat grinder for a rookie.
