I think that would be either Ruzicka or Coronato on that line to start the season. It depends on what they show in the preseason games.
Huberdeau - Lindholm - Sharangovich
Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman
Dube - Kadri - Ruzicka/Coronato
Pelletier - XXXX - Duehr
Hanifin - Andersson
Zadorov - Weegar
XXXX - Tanev
It seems Rooney and Oesterle get a first crack at those openings. I think they end up being filled by Gilbert/Kylington and Jones.

Let Coronato play top minutes in the AHL for a bit.

Giving Ruzicka an opportunity to play in a more offensive role.... we'll see if it pans out.

And wing might add some consistency, since there's a little less on his shoulders.
That line has 3 guys who can play in the middle. Maybe they free wheel a bit more.

Any sign of Kylington on the ice today?

It will change through camp, but the lines reflect Huska's first impression of who should play with who.
The forward lines are predictable. The interesting storylines will be how Sharongovich fits on the top line and if Ruzicka can hold onto that top 9 spot.
On defense its interesting to see Zadorov-Weegar and Oesterle-Tanev. My guess is Oesterle is holding a spot for Kylington. If Kylington is out long term maybe they see Zadorov as a top 4 guy or want to manage Tanev's minutes a bit? I can't imagine they want Oesterle playing more then 15 minutes a night.

Speed is going to be an issue for this group.
Especially at forward.

Huh?
We replaced Toffoli, Lucic, Lewis and Stone with far younger, faster, better skating pieces.
Outside of Huberdeau, who's a below average skater in that forward group? I am not seeing it.

They are faster than before. Toffoli and Lucic out is a big improvement in speed. (And Monahan the year before). Only Huberdeau is below average in speed. Dube, Coleman, Duehr are all fast. Pelletier, Mangiapane, Ruzicka, Coronato, Lindholm, Kadri, Backlund, all have decent speed, though they're not an outside threat. Haven't seen enough Sharangovhich but I hadn't heard anything bad about his speed.

Sharangovich can skate. That and his shot are his main assets.
The team will be faster this year. I don't know how they couldn't be just by dropping Lucic alone.
