I knew there was some "new" interchange down that way, but I haven't been down in Shawnessy since before it was built. So it was just a little "Oh! This is *that* intersection!" - but only one minor oops in realizing I needed to be 1 lane over to get to the McD's. Thankfully, traffic was very light and I just jumped over a lane when our light turned green and it was fine. It is/was mildly disconcerting to feel like I was driving on the wrong side of the overpass heading back over to the diagnostic center for the appointment - it is an odd intersection but now I wish I could see it operate in daylight hours, from overhead. It seems like it should be a disaster but clearly, it's not.

I drive that intersection every morning, usually early enough that traffic isn’t too bad. I can never decide if it works because of genius design or if it’s weird enough that drivers really pay attention to try and figure out what the hell is going on. I have seen a few hilariously confused drivers; oddly it usually seems to be taxi or Uber drivers that have no clue where to go. My favorite is when someone realizes they are in the wrong lane and full on stop and try to figure it out as everyone drives around them.

It really had traffic flowing though. Shawnessy used to have brutal backups all the time. Like an hour to get out there. It has really helped to eliminate that. I drive it multiple times a week and have really only seen someone driving the wrong on it one time.

Times New Roman is meant to be viewed in print, not on a computer screen.

I fell pretty hard in front of a bunch of French people. One lady in particular loudly gasped "tabernac".

Did anyone ever try and use wing dings as a cypher when you were younger?

Elevator etiquette question...

You are in a crowded elevator and you have the last stop.

As people get off do you move around to maximize distance from the remaining riders
or do you stay in your place until your floor ?

Can you....shoot the hostage?

In this day and age of high oil prices, Bill Gates and infectious diseases I'd think you'd move around to maximize distance.

Had the weirdest thing on a highway drive. Cruising along, about to enter the exit lane, guy ahead going kind of slow changes lanes late without signalling so I come up on them quicker than I might have otherwise. No biggie, he didn’t cut me off and I didn’t ride his ass, just carry on. We merge into the empty cross-road, with me merging within the segmented lines and guy in front doing the same but further up. Then he full on panicked, swerves into the shoulder, gives me a ‘what the fuxk’ hand gesture and fingers me when I go around.

Like…did this dumbass freak out thinking I suddenly came up on his ass out of nowhere? Did his giant ass unsecured dog obscure his vision leaving him to think I was tailgating? Did me completing the lane change before he did offend him somehow? Usually I know if I’ve been an ####### or made a mistake, but this was some next level out of the blue anger from this guy.

Wild. Maybe he blacked out for 20 seconds and came to in the shoulder.

Might be the same dipshart that almost took me out yesterday… he was indicating, slowing down, and full in the turning lane and had actually started his turn when suddenly BOOM hard turn back into 100kmh fast lane. No notice no indicating no shoulder check nada.. If not for my ninja reactions with swerving, braking, and laying on the horn then odds were most people woulda launched him into a roll. Just about everything in back of my vehicle slammed forward and some into my driver and passenger areas. He did proceed to immediately pull onto the shoulder and stop - he had rental plates. He at least did the hand wave of “oh crap I screwed up sorry man” and accompanying head nod of shame/pity. At least that’s how I took it.

Good lesson for staying focussed on task, knowing where other vehicles are relative ti me, and reminder to secure loose things inside vehicle.

If you had a degree from the University of Bologna, would anyone take it seriously?

Subway would.

Now that would be a true 'Sandwich Artist.'
