If you read the article, only Nunavut had lower prices than they paid in 2020.

Well that explains your ignorance, but I assume you are old enough to correct that at this point. I'm sorry you were robbed of a proper education that would allow you to evaluate politicians better. But those days are behind you, so at this point, being ignorant is not a defense anymore. As we say around here, Be Better. The power is in you.

The Breakdown
“Alberta contends it is entitled to $334-billion from the Canada Pension Plan – more than half of the fund in its entirety”
Convince the rest of the country to give up half of its financial security?
Don’t forget…
Any changes to the Canada Pension Plan Act require seven of 10 provinces representing two-thirds of the country’s population to agree to those changes.

Trevor Tombe was saying on Twitter last night that Alberta would essentially be made whole as though we'd never participated in CPP. He pegged the figured at about $300 billion, but also quickly added that Alberta might not actually get that amount and it might be more like $100-150bn.
He's also releasing a report on the matter today. His report should be more down the middle as opposed to the more politically motivated pieces we can expect from the parties.
It's going to be interesting to see, because frankly there's goig to be a lot of promises and valuations thrown around. What this really does though, is set the province up for (a) a referendum, and (b) a drawn out legal battle if the referendum succeeds.

I'll wait for Paul Mclaughlan and the RMA to tear their numbers apart and prove its stupidity. As we has, many many times before.

Premier Danielle Smith to move ahead with plans to leave CPP, set up Alberta pension plan
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/cana...anielle-smith/
#### off, Dumbell Smith. I'm Canadian first and foremost - Albertan second. I ####ing hate this divisive rhetoric from this ass-backwards redneck party. Can she please just take the UCP party back to the scum pond it came from and rot away for eternity.

If anyone is interested in reading it, here's where you can get the paper put out by Trevor Tombe today. It's actually pretty interesting: https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....act_id=4576950
If you don't want to read it, he says that the contribution rate required would be about 8.2% (currently 9.5% with CPP), but that is contingent on the amount of assets from CPP that APP would get, along with several other risk factors he outlines. These are things like continued net positive migration to the province, demographics and investment risks. Those challenges could quickly eat into that 1.3% savings, and nullify it entirely.

Money is money I’d like to see what this has to offer. Was it the end of the world when Quebec got their own pension?
