Only if you're also a Texas Ranger.

Conroy has also said while not a shoe in to make the lineup he would have to suck something bad not to make it.
Even if he has a so-so camp a lot of players do, but they bring their best during game situations and he might be a player like that because he was pretty good.

Yes. A guy like Huberdeau needs lots of touches and lots of time - they try a lot of plays to get to the highlightreel moments. He also has to test and wear down defences - eventually they break. High energy guys like Pelletier need less ice time - in fact it may even be detrimental for them to take long shifts.
I don't mind equivalent shift numbers - I want longer shifts up the line (it drove me crazy that Lucic would take longer shifts than the rest of his line).

Some of that is powerplay time as well, we had a rigid two unit system.
Pelletier also said he felt he wore down towards the end when he was scratched for some games. He is a spark plug player who does a lot little things right, it takes a lot of energy to play that way to building him to a level that doesn't cause him to tire is important.

Klapka climbing the charts thanks to recency bias. I still think his skill level is too low for the big league, maybe a 13th forward.

Duehr are Pelletier are in.
Coronato more than likely.
Wolf and Zary will come in and out during the season.
Klapka has something the big team lacks at present. If he's in, it's at the expense of Ruzicka (whom I expect to be then moved).

Pelletier has had two underwhelming training camps leading up to this season; hopefully, he's able to showcase his abilities right out of the gate this season.
Hard to say definitively based on last weekend's tournament but Coronato's all-round game looks like it could use some fine-tuning down in the AHL. No doubt, he has the shot that this team needs but his all-out effort, which is great to see, needs to better focussed within the game. Maybe he shows this in main camp.

I wouldn't sleep on a guy like Ben Jones having a strong camp and making the team. Criminally underrated in our prospect pool.

There just isn't anybody else though. If Coronato doesn't make it, it will mean that Duehr AND Klapka have made it. Love them both, but I don't see either one making the top 9 ahead of Coronato.

I am curious to see if Pelletier comes into camp a little heavier. I love his energy and vision on the ice, but size is still a concern. He's definitely not afraid to take hits or engage players bigger than him, but he seemed to start taking a lot of punishment the more games he played and slowed down a little.
I have pretty high hopes for Coronato. I think he has the skill and stature to start contributing in the NHL right away. I am sure there will be ups and downs as the NHL grind is going to be a lot harder than the university schedule, but he seems to be prepared for it. He is only 1 inch taller than Pelletier, but 35 lbs heavier, so less concerned about his size.

I could see him sneaking into the 4th line C, ahead of Ruzicka - better suited for the role

Maybe Huska can motivate Ruzicka?
Huska is another "rookie" to watch.

I've also been beating the Jones drum for a while. He has been the best Wrangler's center IMO. Zary has higher potential, but Jones also brings a lot to the table, especially in a bottom 6 role.
Manny Viveiros(the Giants head coach) also had a lot of good things to say about Jones, from their time with the Silver Knights. He was mostly talking about Honzek, and Lipinski, but went out of his way to mention Jones.

Jones just didn't stand off the page in penticton. I hate to put too much stock into the young stars, but it is a good litmus test for who belongs in the NHL. Jones looked good, but he didn't look anywhere near a league above. Give him a year in the AHL but unless he shows something he didn't on the weekend he won't turn heads.
Edit: got bell and Jones mixed up.

Kuznetsov was the best dman at the youngstars. I think he should be a little higher on people’s lists. Super solid, calm, great at starting the transition up ice, as physical as is required.

Was Jones even there, or are you talking about last season?
He is going to be 25 years old before the end of this season. The clock is quickly ticking on him if he is ever going to be a full time NHL player.
