The Italians have a very accomplished doubles team thus making it a dead rubber is huge for Canada. They called up doubles specialist Kelsey Stevenson a couple of days ago and I wouldn't be surprised to see him play alongside Vasek.

Pretty cool that these two were in Calgary almost a year ago playing challenger and today both are contributing to a Davis cup win over a good Italian team.

Canada and Italy are going to a 3rd set in doubles - I should probably clarify when I said above it was a dead rubber, if teams have a matching won-loss record in the group and it does comes down to sets won and potentially games won, obviously the more of those you have in your back pocket, the better.
